What happened to all the western kinos? The best we've got in the last decade is S1 of Mandalorian..
I hope Costner's three parter is good.

4 parter
Gawd damn Costner.
Its shot on digital trash
why does he wants to make this as 4 movie saga?
Why he doesn't want this to be a fricking miniseries? Like does Paramount wouldn't do it? They love him because of Yellowstone.
Idk, let me just call him up and ask
If you get him tell him that waterworld still fricking sucks
He told me to tell you your dad's gay
but what about the horizons????
Prob cause he wants to call every shot and thinks it needs to be the movie format cause that’s what all the classic westerns were
Lonesome Dove is a classic, as is Bonanza et al.
the trailer look mid and contrived
>meaningless buzzword slop
your movie looks like shit, Kostner
Nice rebuttal. Did your husband think of it for you?
The only thing that remotely interests me is Kevin directing and starring. If his name wasn't attached in anyway there would be absolutely nothing even remotely remarkable about this movie. The critics hated it, but I'll judge for myself. Still, Kevin has a very rocky track record for directing, you're either getting kino or dog shit
>nothing even remotely remarkable about this movie
Dude is clearly leeching off the success of Yellowstone while thinking he can do what Taylor Sheridan does.
>The best we've got in the last decade is S1 of Mandalorian..
>wanted to bring up Open Range as a counterpoint
>Release date: August 15, 2003
A-at least we got some neo-Westerns, right?
Hahahaha don't feel bad anon. I was on Cinemaphile the other day and someone told me about a mini called Destroyer that 'came out a few years ago' and I told them "brother, 2009 is over 10 years ago."
Damn
Bone Tomahawk falls within a decade, barely, and it's definitely better than starslop.
All modern mid to low budget Westerns look like crap. They don't even look at good as TV shows anymore. TV has surpassed them. I can'ts stands no more.
The Old Way was alright
>The best we've got in the last decade is S1 of Mandalorian..
Wrong
Well don't be shy anon, tell us the name
Lost
Bone Tomahawk
talk about edging in at the last minute lol, that shit's 9 years old already
>star wars
Shit thread, I was excited for a western thread.
Blackthorn was good.
>2011
oh..
Westernbros.. is it over?
Costner always looks like he’s mildly confused.
His moustache looks dumb
>The best we've got in the last decade is S1 of Mandalorian
>what is old henry
>what is hell or high water
>what is bone tomahawk
>what is true grit
also, mandalorian was shit reddit schlock
I liked Hostiles
damn i fricking forgot to list the best one from last 10 years, its one of my top 10 films
Why didn't they take a train?
I don't know. What year was it? They were still having Indian wars, maybe trains weren't so mapped out
>ten years
i mixed up true grit with news of the world which was okay
>what is old henry
An okay no budget movie
>what is hell or high water
Not a western
>what is bone tomahawk
Worse than Ravenous
>what is true grit
A movie made in 2010.
>Not a western
oh and fricking star wars shit is?
I'm not op. Just calling you out on your mid taste.
ok mr big shot western expert, what are your favorites from the last 10 years then
The Ballad of Lefty Brown
The Homesman
The Salvation
Forsaken
>The Ballad of Lefty Brown
this one looks interesting, somehow i've missed it
I liked News of the world
thanks is so dull to wtch
They still get made
Never Grow Old is better than its imdb rating suggests
Old Henry is decent too
Last Stop in Yuma County is a contemporary Western, it came out this year and it's kino.
Will this be better or worse than his Wyatt Earp movie? He's become a better director since then, but this seems really self indulgent.
His Wyatt Earp was better than Kurt Russell's.
Kurt got carried by Sam Elliot and Val Kilmer.
Russell is a better leading man than Costner. The supporting cast was better too, but I think Dennis Quaid's portrayal of Doc Holiday is underrated.
I personally just liked Costner's Earp better.
We can all go together
You’re fricking high.
The Deadwood movie
They make tons of them but I can't be bothered with so much 50s kino.
Calamity Jane is good
Maybe, I think these are probably better.
Just cause X is better than Y doesn't mean Y is bad.
damn
How many of these are ass
