They were spoof movies making fun of overdone tropes. They ran out of things to satirize. And Hollywood hasn't been innovative in decades so they would just be beating a dead horse.

they really should just go back to how stuff like Naked Gun and Gonna Git You Sucka were, just dumb funny jokes and maybe making fun of general genre tropes. i still like Scary Movie 1 even as just a direct parody of Scream, but by the time it got to like Scary Movie 3 and 4 is where it just became all about "look its the thing you know from that other movie" in place of actual jokes. really miss that style of absurd rapid-fire cartoonish gag humor of the early spoof movies but those 2 israelite homosexuals completely killed it with their ones like Disaster Movie
They tried with 5 and it was a fricking travesty, the Wayans bros just aren't what they used to be. Not only that but stuff like Scary Movie and Don't be a menace really are products of their time and best left alone.
