Not some computer photo expert that's just what the dutch authorities said when they analyzed it, apparently it was deleted in a way in which it couldn't be recovered which could only be done by connecting the camera to a computer and deleting it that way.

Panama's tropical forests are a wild place, and they've probably fell down some high cliff, snapped some photos accidentally from their phones while trying to call for emergency before succumbing to their deaths after crawling to a river or a stream of water where their decomposed bodies were eaten by fish.
