It's one of those films that are underappreciated by the general public, but overrated by the film enthusiasts.
It's just a solid sci-fi action movie, a bit dated, but if you dont mind the tacky "early 2000's cool" then it's pretty cool.
The directors cut of Chronicles of Riddic is also pretty decent if Pitch Black leaves you hungry for more.

Agreed, but as other anons have stated, Point Blank is fairly solid, if not actually moronic the way people act in that movie & universe.
At least with Chronicles, they tear off those moronic chains of any logic whatsoever, and go full ham, which is very appreciated with the Necros.

Remake of pitch black, no. Everything else yes. An older Riddick having ruled the necromongers for years sounds awesome

I emailed the director, David Twohy, a few years ago and he said Riddick 4 would happen after the TV show, which has yet to materialize.
