Yeah but Val Kilmer's character shoots his M4 like he's got 300 round belt instead of 30 round magazine. Realistic my ass

It's suppression fire and he's intimidating them to risk a stray shot if they pop their heads up to shoot back. Do you even?

      Kinludo.
Great heist movie which will keep you watching all the way thru.
Has a little bit of redundancy but to me it was just more movie to enjoy tbh
GREAT ending idk what the frick this moron ìs saying

The action being the juice. Several insufferable females.

the insufferable females are great. pacino and de niro are like mirrors of each other. they both have women in their lives who are unappreciative, demanding and emotionally unstable.
ashley judd is the best in it, the way she takes care of val is a great scene.
can't say enough good things about heat. it's pure, unfiltered kino straight to the veins. a 3 hour lavish extravaganza that takes its time to set up its interweaving plots and to build tension for when shit pops off.
my favorite part about the bank heist are the gun sounds. they shot on location in downtown LA and used the sounds of the guns. heat has completely unique gun sound effects.

HANNA: You know I have this recurring dream.
I’m sitting at this big banquet table and all the victims of all the murders I ever worked are sitting at this table and they’re staring at me with these black eyeballs because they got 8-ball hemorrhages from the head wounds. And there they are, these big balloon people, because I found them two weeks after they’ve been under the bed. The neighbors reported the smell. And there they are, all of ’em, just sitting there.
    NEIL: Whadda they say?
    HANNA: Nothing.
    NEIL: No talk?
HANNA: No. Just… they don’t have anything to say. They just look at each other. They look at me. And that’s it, that’s the dream. (snaps fingers)
NEIL: I have one where I’m drowning. And I gotta wake myself up and start breathing or I’ll die in my sleep.
HANNA: You know what that’s about?
    NEIL: Yeah. Havin’ enough time.
HANNA: Enough time? To do what you wanna do?
    NEIL: That’s right.
    HANNA: You doin’ it now?
    NEIL: Nah, not yet.

Fun Fact: This scene is based on a real conversation between Chuck Adamson a Chicago police and Neil McCauley a bank robber, at a coffee shop

pleb take but it’s my favorite movie of all time. i can watch it on repeat. visually stunning, the acting is superb, writing is so meticulous and precise. not to mention the shootout scenes. just fricking amazing.

oh and jon voight is so incredible underrated in this

“i smeared the sargent in vice five yards”
“funny as a heart attack man, three marriages what the frick do you think that means he likes staying home?”
“with this guy this much heat you should pass”
    “it’s worth the stretch”
“this guy can hit and miss. you can’t miss once”

such a great example of how Mann fits so much subject matter into such little dialogue

y’all can have your opinions but i love this fricking film

Good film that could've done with about 30 minutes cut from it. Idk what the deal is with directors thinking that more time = better movie, and adding in useless garbage to extend the film. Cut about 30 minutes and could've been one of the all time greats.
