And the worst of all is, it's not a single organism, the single organism are individual cells, and they have three "tribes" of cells forming each part, the sail, the feeding tentacles and the killing tentacles.

It's pretty cool. There are a lot of colony organisms, and it's one of the more cool looking.

These sea creatures think they're so tough huh? Me thinks we should shoot a whole bunch of microplastics into the marianas trench and tell those dolphins what the frick's up

I still don’t get what the frick these are. What happens if you swim into the tentacles? Don’t these things get gigahueg too?

Also I recall reading like 10 years ago that jellyfish were getting out of control because their natural predator, the sea turtle, was getting wiped out by plastic beer can rings. What happened with that after all?

      >I still don’t get what the frick these are
scientists still don't know exactly. We know they have brains and hearts and organs but they shouldn't *technically* function
      >What happens if you swim into the tentacles?
they kind of grope you and then leave you alone because you are not a fish and jellyfish only eat those
still, they are highly poisonous which results in your body getting scarred and you getting a serious toxic shock which can prove deadly if untreated. also hurts a lot and for a long time
      >Don’t these things get gigahueg too?
They do. Their "heads" can get big (about adult-man-size) but nothing compares to the length their tentacles can grow to.
Still, despite their terrifying appearance, jellies kind of do their own thing and are not malicious at all.
