What are some concepts for superhero personal lives that you'd want to see?
I want to see a pretty together guy in his 30's get superpowers and he's doing his best, like "College Professor Peter Parker".

A realistic take on what a Robin would grow up to be if they were raised by Batman. Like just the biggest schizo man failure imaginable.
There's already something like that but the name eludes me
Insufferable?
Premise seems interesting. Worth a read?
Never read it beyond the Baby-Vest meme
Just finished the published stuff. It's fun and short but incomplete.
Brat Pack?
That's literally just ASBAR and TDKSA
Watch TTGO
I think it depends on how well the character separates personal life and superhero career. College Prof Peter Parker sounds like a fun idea, if his identity remains a secret, imo
Can you explain? I'm actually working on a concept myself like that. Basically guy in his early 30s and a fiancé just develops superpowers. It's an awkward transition but it's pretty supportive. His fiancé would know but that'd be it.
Your story idea sounds a bit different from what's in OP's suggestion since they get their powers at their 30s (both of them or just the guy?) and then have their journey as a superhero. My thought was just a character who gets their powers early on, learns that lesson of keeping their identity a secret or the villains will start targeting people close to them, and managing to do so with a decent work-life balance outside of the superhero career until they get to their 30s or 40s. I know it doesn't sound feasible (villains can be crafty after all) but I just sort of like playing with the idea in my mind.
If at least, it gets you a character that can pass some wisdom about the superhero life and its sacrifices to younger new heroes. I like the contrast of practical, knowledgeable older hero to young, well-meaning but impulsive new gens.
That's an interesting idea. My idea is basically what if Peter made it to his thirties, met MJ and settled down with a normal course in life, and then gets Vitter by the spider. How do you transition to that new life?
Basically grown adult has to now deal with a typically teenage hero origin story, with all his adult responsibilities already a consideration. I was also thinking supercriminals exist before the superheroes do.
I want to see a wholesome bimbo gyaru who is also a superhero
Queen bee b***hy cheerleader who bullies nerds but also does superhero stuff and saves lives.
I want to see Regina George with super powers
She should have like a visually weird or lame power. Nothing flashy. Something that compels her to use a secret identity because she can’t bear the thought of her friends seeing her using her powers for the sake of embarrassment.
>a pretty together guy in his 30's get superpowers and he's doing his best
so, the Tick?
Kind of unrelated, but I have always wanted to see the community & infrastructure of the superhero world, mainly after they've been around for a while. The closest we've seen to this is The Incredibles, Sky High, The Tick live action reboot & Venture Brothers.
I feel like the old "superhero double life" & "eternally broke vigilante" thing that Spider-Man goes through would eventually not be a thing, at some point. Heck, being a superhero could probably be a legitimate career with a salary, healthcare, dental & retirement plan, if run by a government or private agency.
>community & infrastructure of the superhero world
Almost every media portrays it as a corrupt and incompetent company managing the supes, so no
Has anyone done "clayface as a main hero" yet? Its perfect for maintaining a secret identity.
He was a good guy in Tynion's 'Tec run.
If the appeal is a shapeshifting hero who creates fake identities to live as while hiding his inhuman appearance in public I guess there’s always Martian Manhunter.
>What are some concepts for superhero personal lives that you'd want to see?
Someone actively avoid the super hero bullshit despite having super powers. Just a guy going ''why the frick would I become a vigilante?''
Supervillain mellows out and becomes a family man, flips out when someone treads on his metaphorical lawn, then goes back to being normal
So a mediocre white guy? I've got good news for you, there are literally thousands of stories like that!
A trucker!
Hero is a Vtuber/streamer for their day job
In theory it's perfect, hours are flexible, they can keep their identity safe behind the puppet and a voice changer, or just be camless
But they always run the risk of exposure.
It could be a running gag that their viewers all "know" that they're a super hero. If you were a real nonce you could have the public know the protag is a super hero but they have to keep their stream channel a secret because it's so explicit.
I think in general I'd like to see more heroes with more independent, creative jobs
A Machester Black esque character who strives to become a better person and unlocks potential he/she didn't even realize.
A person get superpowers but he doesn't want to be a hero, antihero or villain, he just want to continue living like a normie. Everytime shit happens he just go like "not my problem" and do a 180.
There must a be a comic like that but I don't know the name.
Read Astro City, it's great.
