There's going to be a lot of missing moments, so for sketch shows I'd go for 'best of's'. I saw Fawlty Towers was rated best Tv show ever heh but that can't really be true

I'm gonna draw some ire but I really don't think Fawlty Towers has aged very well. It's basically one episode of material stretched across 12. But it's extremely iconic (especially to Americans, it was "the" hip cool imported british thing for niche nerds to fawn over in the 80s/90s, along with original Doctor Who), so it's worth watching at least to get the cultural relevance. I think the lasting idea of John Cleese calling his beloved wife a stupid great tart is better than the experience.

The Good Life, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Bottom, It Aint half Hot Mum, Are you being served, Dads Army, Yes Primeminister/Minister, Only Fools and Horses. Its turned shit now that the BBC have gone full DEI/ESG. They make shows full of unfunny people just because they tick the boxes.

Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, in fact all the Harry and Paul stuff.

A bit partial to Harry Hill, but I haven't seen him in years. Loved him as a kid, maybe hasn't aged well.

Ever Decreasing Circles, One Foot in the Grave and Yes Minister. Dad's Army is perhaps the most quintessential British comedy but, I don't know how well it will translate to a non-British person.

Are there any good British comedies from the last 10 years?

Toast of London just falls in - started 2013, so a few more days and it wouldn't count. Entertainment in the the past 10 years just hasn't been that good in general. They were never great to begin with but, the majority of panel shows became completely unwatchable and soulless when in the early-2010s they started introducing diversity quotas for panellists.

The pre quota and post quota eras are a prime display of why nepotism is fine provided you screen for talent first. We now know what happens when they don't

Fricking mad that the "horny Swedish au pair" character in "Mind Your Language" was played by Ingmar Bergman's daughter.

Just gone through every British comedy show of the 2010s and 2020s on here and the answer is no, no there hasn't been. So much forgotten slop on here as well, comedians getting 30 opportunities to fail with various vehicles, reboot after reboot after reboot (did you know they made a whole new series of Yes, Minister despite everyone from the original being dead?), so much absolute shit on ITV 3.
