What are some good beginner horror movies that aren't too scary?
My girlfriend is a big wuss when it comes to scary movies but she wants to try watching them with me as long as I pick a nice not too scary movie so she can get used to the genre.
Anyone of you guys got some good suggestions?
I was thinking Alien or maybe The Conjuring?

Martyrs. Don’t look into it or it will spoil the movie, just watch it with her.
Oh and make sure it’s the 2008 one.
bruh. Leave the poor guy alone.
“Bruh” you’re underage so frick off you colossal gayet
yeah, and its past your bedtime ESL grandpa
I love that being “old” (read:over 25) is supposed to be some kind of insult as if zoom zooms aren’t the most moronicly braindead, high on the spectrum ADHD spazzes glued to their screens like emaciated weird looking monkeys. Am I supposed to be offended that you’re a decade younger than me and don’t know what ESL means? Bravo, I’m sure your single mother is elated with your progress.
lmaoo dude idk what u rambling about, take a chill pill, i know how hard it is when u guys keep losing but this is the new world bruh u gotta adapt
Man I hate Hispanic teenagers so much
Slava Ukraini.

Aliens
50s & 70s Body Snatcher movies

If you want Horror movies that aren't too scary, I suggest A24 Horror, because even I've seen some of those, and I dislike the genre.
Literally and unironically in all seriousness start with the classic Universal Monsters movies.
Seconding these.
Maybe also some 50s monster movies like Them, The Deadly Mantis, 20 Million Miles to Earth, Curse of the Demon, Beast from 20000 Fathoms.
Wait Until Dark is good and not super scary, no jumpscares or monsters, and you get to see the bad guys plotting so it's scary but not unexpectedly frightening
I used Evil Dead 2. Scary, but never forgets that the reason you're watching the movie is to be entertained. Teaches you to laugh and makes every horror movie afterwards, no matter how scary, more enjoyable.
By "used" I mean I used this movie for this exact purpose
Look, I’ve been fricking with you previously in this thread but if you want a genuine answer you should show her something that blends horror with comedy and a few prime examples would be Return of the Living Dead (1985), Night of the Demons (1988), Terrorvision (1986). I would say start with Return then Terrorvision (which has a young uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite as one of the main characters, the daughters punk boyfriend who is literally named O.D.) then Night. Just feel it out yknow
Watch the new "IT" movies. They're a little spooky but not much gore. The first one kind of reminded me of stranger things. Great beginner starting point.
Those movies are absolute fricking garbage. I hadn’t walked out of a movie in years until I went with some friends and saw part two and about two thirds of the way through I just said frick this and went out to the parking lot to finish the beers we smuggled in and throw the empties on the roof. What an absolutely shit movie
>beginner horror movies
>beginner
I swear fricking vidyahomosexuals invading my board
What happened to just fricking watch the movie, if you're filtered you're filtered simple as
He’s asking for his slit though. The fella has some gash he’s smashing and wants to watch (w)horror with the hole. I mean I get it sort of but honestly I would never date someone who sucks that much unless it’s on my dick. I love how many anons think they only will ever have one chance at puss and will settle for the first thing that sits and spins on their penis.
Dark Skies is pg-13, still quite creepy.
Bordello of blood
From dusk to dawn
Tucker and Dale vs evil
Lair of the white worm
Fido
Cube
Sleepy Hollow
The Stuff
Friday the 13th pt 1
Slither
>Sleepy Hollow
Perfect suggestion.
>Slither
>Tucker and Dale vs evil
These are correct answers. I used to ride my bike to a local video store when I was a young teenager and when Slither first came out one of the dudes who worked there who I was friendly with told me it was awesome and I said no way judging from the generic b-movie cover so he just flat out gave me a copy of it and told me to let him know what I thought. Absolutely great movie and years later I ended up working at that store until it shut down in the mid 2010s. Good times, thank you for attending my TED talk
Tucker and Dale vs evil is a great suggestion!
Show her some “lite” horror stuff like Joe Dante movies such as Gremlins 1 and 2, or The Burbs.
Show her Funny Games
Thanks guys for the great suggestions
No prob bob. Oh and Poltergeist, that’s a great entry level “scary movie”
Happy Death Day is tailor made for this situation. Main char is a sorority girl, not too gory
The Shining, Halloween, Scream, The Silence of the Lambs, Predator, Friday the 13th original (the 2009 is good as well).
If she would be more into modern movies I would suggest Happy Death Day, It Follows, Zombieland, The Fear Street trilogy on Netflix.
