the infected in 28 days later are living breathing humans with a meme virus. In 28 days there's that scene where the army boys are explaining that they're measuring how long it takes for the infected to die of starvation. In 28 weeks that's exactly what happened there was no more infected left minus the guy's wife.
Like, what else is now also zombies?
Werewolves? They run around and bite people and may or may not turn them into the same monsters, so they must be zombies as well now right?
It's probably the most famous asian zombie film but it's nowhere near the best.
It's basically just the Korean version of World War Z with PG 13 non-gore and rubber-looking CGI zombie hordes that act like video game bosses.
Also DO NOT watch the sequel, it has virtually nothing in common with the first movie except there are occasionally Zombies.
The director allowed the success of the first movie go to his head, for the sequel he tried to put every modern Hollywood action movie sequence into in the movie and at the very end the hero characters are saved by a Black American woman yes really, although all clips of the end of that movie seem to be purged from Youtube you will have to find it for yourself.
This is a clip of one of the car chases in the movie, summoning their inner Mad Max Fury Road.
Zombie movies aren't all that good anymore since the best plots have been done to death. You need tv series or preferably games nowadays. The best parts of zombies is the survival, scavenging, making safe houses, etc. It's a lot of tedious shit that's fun for zombie fans but not workable in a 2 hour movie
Last zombie movie I liked that didn't have a stupid forced romance plot shoved in (and the only black guy was a villain, not a hero) was wienerneys vs Zombies.
Don't dismiss Land of the Dead. Even though it was made much later, it sits nicely alongside Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. Unfortunately Romero couldn't maintain that quality, so don't bother with the others.

Smart zombies are a stupid concept and boring to me. They don't really lead to anything interesting. Are they going to start talking, being friendly, and building a society? Now the planet is full of undead humans going to work and living their lives?
It's usually taken way too far, but these zombies were just barely "smart" and still slow as frick, like Bub from Day of the Dead. I think they got it about right.
>Zombies attack >everyone's running around getting munched >the best option at the moment is to climb up onto some structures >you have no tools
Can you do it, Cinemaphile? Are you fit enough to survive?
I dont think anythings topped Dawn of the Dead yet but theres also train to busan and this one korean show where there all stuck in school but it started to go full anime towards the end
by modern i mean post 2000s
Then you'd be wrong since the modern period begins in the 16th century with the renaissance. Maybe be more accurate with your words next time?
Oh, and according to
Braindead by Peter Jackson is a must
You mean 28 Days Later fast Zombies? That movie invented the modern Zombie and made them threatening again.
Those aren't zombies.
>Chase after you
>Bite you
>Ignore pain
>Spread diseases with bites and fluids
>No intelligence
>Ruins civilization
Seems very zombie to me.
So do mosquitoes.
Zombies = living dead.

in reality it's best when played serious
me on the left (the hottest zombine)
what i learned from watching most modern zombie movies is that asians will never understand how to make movies
western zombie stuff:
>cheesy comedy
or
>thrilling character study in an apocalypse
asian zombie stuff:
>here's 2hrs of gore and people screaming! it's like you're right there at tiananmen!
you'll think i'm exaggerating till you watch one
theyre just shitty gore films
You ever seen Bio-Zombie?
nay
NTA but it's one of my favorite zombie b-movies.
It's on youtube, though without subtitles.
One Cut of the Dead, I am A Hero - all excellent modern Japanese zombie movies.
Also the Zom 100 anime series.
you apparently haven't seen Train to Busan

It's different from the usual zombie plot but One Cut of the Dead has a lot of heart, it's a fun little movie.
Wyrmwood 2014

>Western zombies
>Slowish, shambling and moaning ghouls
>Eastern zombies
>Hissing, snarling, feral, roaring, beast like sprinters
See here
Man remember in Train to Busan where the tough dad just wraps his arms in duct tape and slugs some zombies, shit is good.
>knuckles get cut up
>AIIIEEEEE IA AMU A ZOMBRIEEEE
All animated resident evil films and serie

Overall, I liked Land of the Dead but I don't really like "smart" zombies and frick that b***h Asia Argento
