Why do creators feel the need to share their politics?

I don’t care if you’re a Q anon ultra right wing or an extreme leftie commie if you make something good I’ll enjoy it but I don’t want to hear about your dumb politics.

Pretty much. It's the difference between the US and China. Bring up Tianamen Square in a company Tweet in China, and you get sent to jail and lose your life. Bring up 4th of July stealing native land, and you lose your rep.

It's mostly moronic, because they aren't the most important thing in the world. Every word spent promoting a politics could be spent promoting a noncontroversial cause that helps people, which is actually worth something.

It's moronic, but it also explains the influx of people going against their group synergy. From a Trans voice actor telling the creator that their own story is WRONG, to Kanye saying the Nazis were right about certain things.

There is no major youth culture these days outside of politics and gender issues.

Mainstream music mostly died, and what is there is weird shit that only caters to fellow industrygays or people over 40 trying super extra hard to still be hip and cool. Mainstream tv is long fricking dead and short form videos on apps are not really great to form up a counterculture around at all. Film is also only catering to 40+ somethings who still want to keep on remembering the fricking 80s.

There is no major outlet for music, or entertainment catered to teens at all anywhere these days. They have nothing to cling to. And what dominates all social media circles is political b***hing and moaning.

Almost all industry jobs in animation, games, and comics are word of mouth, nepotism, and friends helping friends only. No one ever really lands a gig by applying and portfolios the old fashioned way. It's impossible, you have to make friends and have someone suggest hiring you.

Since about 2014 or so all industry members moved over to twitter, and almost all industry gigs were mentioned and advertised on twitter. So people wanting to continue getting work had to be twitter people and repeat twitter stuff. This led to an escalation of that shit. People had to be MORE super into politics and current events than everyone else just to stand out, grab the attention of a producer or director, and then land a story or background art gig. Shortcut to 2018, everyone in every position in every studio was trying their hardest to be seen as the mostest bestest ally and anti bigot ever each time they tweeted a damn thing.

Pic related only ever hired fellow twitter friends for almost every Cartoon Network position for about 7 years. She's laid off now.

Because these people put PRIDE into being propagandists. Whenever you hear about this strike going on remember that Hollywood writers sided against the rail workers the Biden administration crushed, remember that Hollywood sided AGAINST the truckers protesting in Canada and hell Hollywood sided with Wall Street back during the occupy movement. These people are scum, the best ones keep out of it entirely and just try to entertain, hence why EVERY Hollywood jag off preaches their shitty views both on Twitter and in their shows abs movies

misogyny is just normal western culture, Dave Sim was a 'misogynist' in the same sense that HP Lovecraft was 'racist'. A better descriptor for both of them would be unhinged and insane even for their era. Feminism was not the sacred cow it is now back when Sim made his rants and he shocked people back then when he couldn't stop his bizarre occult flavored lunatic screeds against 'voids'.

Are there still people telling lies about Sitterson here? He did not speak ill of 9/11, he said it is hypocritical for people who have no connection with the city or with people who died to use the event as an excuse for their racist/prejudiced actions.
