It's a "bad" movie but it I had to watch it to satisfy my curiosity. It's actually not terrible, the first half is kind of interesting, but overall it's pretty cheesy and seems low budget even though it probably had decent funding. Kind of has the same style as 90s and early 2000's sci fi channel stuff, but not as good.

I think the movie is creepy in being the first technological singularity horror film. Didn't really go into the aftermath (I wouldn't count the sequel, that's more of a cyberpunk version of the first).

at least they kept their CGI in the virtual world in the plot. Modern movies these days think they can put CGI right next to live action and no one would notice.

T2 was ten of the smartest guys in the industry literally writing the book on film CGI. They wrote their own software and made their own tools. Plus they had over a year in pre-production to get it right. A far cry from the Pranjeet outsource farms Hollywood uses today who have six months to learn how to use 3DS Max or Maya.
