The 2012 election coverage wasn't as good as 2008. I wonder what happened then. We know a Hillary donor brought it in 2016 and essentially killed it.

nothing happened on januaray 6th. its a complete psyop. trump literally told everyone to go home and then the democrats told the police to just let everyone in so they could fake a bloodless coupe that failed because not a single boomer brought a gun. all the national guard they brought in later werent allowed to have any ammo because the democrats were afraid they might get an actual coupe going on themselves with their bullshit.

and its funny people always fixate on the 6th. The protests started days before that, which you could watch live on various streaming sites, where capital police would take turns trying to enrage the boomers by beating the shit out of them and pepper spraying them. But like the good goys that they are, they proudly took their beatings and did absolutely nothing.

wish i could host a show like this. not like larry king or rogan with "interesting" or ~~*interesting*~~ people on, but rather somewhat off-beat but otherwise random people with simple angle and keep them rolling on it. like dick cavett or art bell open lines without the fcc, radio station, and impatient old fart filter on it. just a basic "face value" platform that lets the guest build their picture of the world without prying or things like the late night hosts upstaging everything with barely funny comedy.

Oh buddy that was a big pet peeve of mine.
I think I started getting more enjoyment out of the AV Club than the Onion around the mid-00s. Just wonderful media criticism; introduced me to a ton of good shit I wouldn't have found otherwise.
Then the 2010s roll around and not long after every article is "HERE ARE 10 WAYS TO HELP SMASH THE PATRIARCHY AT THE BOX OFFICE THIS WEEKEND." I was joking that it had basically become a Gawker-network site, and then that literally happened. And Jezebel readers started outnumbering normal fricking people in the comments sections.
Just utter lowest common denominator identity politics and politics through media consumption horseshit. What a waste.
