Holy kek
can't believe the very first post is my favorite one, truly fpbp

The 2008-12 era was absolute gold.
>I'm a big 'ol bear!
The 2012 election coverage wasn't as good as 2008. I wonder what happened then. We know a Hillary donor brought it in 2016 and essentially killed it.
future news obviously

Mike Greenman is literally me

I was in one of these, would post but don't want to be doxxed. Not an actor or anything, just was around when they were filming and they needed another person
shut up, b***h
>t.
He probably played one of the fairy kids in
Is it wrong if one of the kids in this looked extremely sexable to me
How did they manage to fake so many realistic looking things?
Most of it was CGI and green screens.
>Anne Heche's Death Ruled an Accident
for me it's the stupid piece of shit that doesn't fricking work
I AM THE LAW.

My unironic political ideology.
Why can't she just accept it's not time yet?
this fricking hits hard.
what's it like having a girlfriend to argue with. i never had anyone who cared enough to argue with me
>Onion
The Babylon Bee is what the Onion should be
post some funny babylon bee videos then
The Onion has taken a dive and probably isn't as good as Bablyon Bee but BB is nowhere near the peak of The Onion
>as good as Bablyon Bee
I'd say they identify as a humorous website, but that would be stealing their one & only joke
As opposed to The Onion, whose only joke is excessive, unexpected profanity.

kek I still can’t believe that summer really happened
All this shit and then Jan 6th happened and gave them the greatest no-u comeback to it all
Jan 6 was 0.01% as destructive as the Saint Floyd of Fentanyl riots.
nothing happened on januaray 6th. its a complete psyop. trump literally told everyone to go home and then the democrats told the police to just let everyone in so they could fake a bloodless coupe that failed because not a single boomer brought a gun. all the national guard they brought in later werent allowed to have any ammo because the democrats were afraid they might get an actual coupe going on themselves with their bullshit.
and its funny people always fixate on the 6th. The protests started days before that, which you could watch live on various streaming sites, where capital police would take turns trying to enrage the boomers by beating the shit out of them and pepper spraying them. But like the good goys that they are, they proudly took their beatings and did absolutely nothing.
The "Nasa Scientists Plan to Approach Girl by 2018" gets me everytime.
The onion totally btfo of Cinemaphiles favorite actor LOL
My girlfriends LMAO at this because it's true

My favorite articles are Gonzo Press Club Vows to Carry On Hunter Thompson's Work, The Nietzschean Diet and Clinton Declares Self President for Life.

wish i could host a show like this. not like larry king or rogan with "interesting" or ~~*interesting*~~ people on, but rather somewhat off-beat but otherwise random people with simple angle and keep them rolling on it. like dick cavett or art bell open lines without the fcc, radio station, and impatient old fart filter on it. just a basic "face value" platform that lets the guest build their picture of the world without prying or things like the late night hosts upstaging everything with barely funny comedy.
I always loved this one.
I also love Peter Rosenthal.
All of Cinemaphile should watch that Mamma Mia review
Anything before Obama's election was generally good. (Even some of the pro-Obama was stuff was even-handed).
But after that, their editorial team got way too comfy with democrat talking points. And the humor dipped hard.
The AVClub writers and commenters also became completely insufferable at the same time.
They launched a Clickhole around the same time, which brought back them back to their roots of actually being funny.
Oh buddy that was a big pet peeve of mine.
I think I started getting more enjoyment out of the AV Club than the Onion around the mid-00s. Just wonderful media criticism; introduced me to a ton of good shit I wouldn't have found otherwise.
Then the 2010s roll around and not long after every article is "HERE ARE 10 WAYS TO HELP SMASH THE PATRIARCHY AT THE BOX OFFICE THIS WEEKEND." I was joking that it had basically become a Gawker-network site, and then that literally happened. And Jezebel readers started outnumbering normal fricking people in the comments sections.
Just utter lowest common denominator identity politics and politics through media consumption horseshit. What a waste.
>ywn read a criticism of a modern movie written by Cookie Monster
Even that guy got hacky. I remember near the end he'd weigh in on current news while doing the voice. Kind of a presage of those "weird twitter" guys breaking character to make clear they're on the right side of history w/r/t important pressing social issues.
I think zodiac still holds it down for ownage though
He's a political twitter guy now too
I check up on him every few years; last I saw he got married and has a kid, but was posting short videos of him driving around deindustrialized Detroit in shitty weather blasting Slayer
Yeah I found it in high school through the Onion around... 2004 or 5? Can't remember what Rabin did that was so bad; I feel like he was axed or left or whatever in the first big exodus of their core writing staff.
The image of O'Neal as a hard-drinking paparazzo hack was very funny. Clever writer.
>Can't remember what Rabin did that was so bad
He's a doughy, ugly, odious & contemptible israelite.
I mean I guess, but I remember he had a shitty foster child upbringing and started with AV Club at like 22 years old. Better writer than whatever trust fund kids they're hiring now.
Didn't like that he caved to the boys drool feminists over the "manic pixie dream girl" thing though.
I was reading AVClub back when the site was the original orange and there were no comments.
You seem like you were there. I would say AVC 2008 is how I first got radicalized.
>This is how these people think about me!?
I can still name a few commenters I would like to personally Minecraft.
Also: Nathan Rabin should be set up like the sloth victim from Se7en.
I miss Sam O'Neal
Sean*
Accidentally conflated with Sam Barsanti when I wrote that
I remember seeing an article link a few years back "AVClub writer comes out as trans" and I clicked it thinking "please be Rabin please be Rabin."
It was VanDerWerff lmao
