>the whole office is all in his head
no it isn't, that's inane. i don't blame people for trying to invent fake twists to "improve" this boring movie but it communicates very clearly which parts are real.
Isn't he the homosexual that beat a pledge in the 90's with a paddle until the fricker's spine got a fracture and got away with it because Jon's daddy was important?
nothing particularly american about hazing rituals. in traditional british boarding schools the older boys would be officially allowed to discipline the younger ones and the shit they used to do to them would be considered sexual assault by modern standards
Enjoyed it, not quite sure what the office represented though.
It's clear he was some kind of sperg or autist, so I'm guessing the office was just him having a bit of a mental breakdown?
it's one crazy person. you can see in the archive when he goes to sleep because suddenly there's no posts about that b***h for six hours, then it starts up again. he's been doing it every day for over a year now.
It’s incel kino in the mold of once upon a time in Hollywood, joker and br2049.
Movie deals with the anxiety and displacement experienced by mediocre middle aged white men.
Most people by definition are mediocre but it’s hard to make compelling movies about them because it’s just too depressing.
The room was an excellent story telling vehicle.
Hamm felt like he had hit on something important and meaningful but when he tried to share it with others, they just look at him like he’s crazy.
Very relatable.
8/10 movie. Critics hate it because it’s about middle class white men navigating office culture.
Also there are zero Black folk and trannies so they’re probably seething about that too
it's a laborious "metaphor" movie that should have been a 45min tv show episode. it's dull, it's predictable and the vo narration is terribly written and mostly pointless. hamm is good, the guy who plays his boss is good, but it's a waste with such a shit script
It’s tragic to see zoomers who almost get it, only to be hamstrung by their Disney-fried serotonin receptors.
Better to be a blissful idiot than have a glimpse of what your potential could have been
i'm sorry, are you trying to do some sort of "you don't get it, it was boring ON PURPOSE" kind of defense? because it absolutely wasn't, it's the same kind of deal as those "prestige" dramas that have 2h worth of material but stretch it out over 8h. this is a movie that's boring for, essentially, budgetary reasons - they can't afford more actors or locations, so it has to be the same handful of people walking back and forth in the one corridor, and they just don't have the kind of writing to fill that emptiness with anything interesting. so you have a ten minute sequence of hamm explaining in a boring vo what everyone's personality is - this chick's bossy, this guy's anxious - only to have those personalities never come up in any way at all, and for all the coworkers to merge into one "collective" character like a greek chorus. so why were those long explanations of shit that never comes up not cut from the movie? because they're desperate to stretch the runtime of what should have been a short into feature length. it's a purposeful timewaster and the script is atrocious. BUT WHAT IF CREATIVITY AND INSANITY... WERE TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN??? says a shitty tv writer that's neither creative nor insane
Kino of the year so far
gonna watch it tonight
it looks a lot like Severance so I should like it for that feel alone
It IS a lot like Severance. Right down to the part where the whole office is all in his head

way to ruin it. Actually what the frick do i care
>let's try putting this guy in a suit again since we don't really know what else to do with him
It was funny.
Isn't he the homosexual that beat a pledge in the 90's with a paddle until the fricker's spine got a fracture and got away with it because Jon's daddy was important?
Important? He invented cheap beer. Stronger words are needed.
that's how the world works, how old are you
Imagine seething over something that may or may not have happened to someone you don't know thirty years ago.
american culture is so brutal and sociopathic.
nothing particularly american about hazing rituals. in traditional british boarding schools the older boys would be officially allowed to discipline the younger ones and the shit they used to do to them would be considered sexual assault by modern standards
hazing is good, actually
Glad ham-bone is back. He's a strong male role model.
Yes, Jon Hamm is a true male role model for all of he. He kisses Sarah Gadon in this movie.
I didn't expect her to sound like that
Sarah Gadon has the sweetest most soothing voice.
I love Sarah Gadon.
>Sarah Gadon in it
Ok i'm watching
Based Sarah Gadon watcher.
Jon Hamm is so lucky, Sarah Gadon is an angel.
Jon Hamm got to dance with Sarah Gadon and kiss her! He's so damn lucky.
Sarah Gadon is so graceful and elegant. She's a trained ballet dancer.
>Sarah Gadon is so graceful and elegant. She's a trained ballet dancer.
She's so talented.
Most kino scene of the year.
kino
I love Sarah Gadon
Enjoyed it, not quite sure what the office represented though.

It was Sarah Gadon and Jon Hamm kino.
You just know it's a pajeet advertising squad.

Qrd?
>Sarah Gadon is in it
That's about it for why this thread exists
honestly, as far as waifugays go, Gadogay is alright, at least he spams an attractive white woman
This.
Miles better than the baiting no lifer who spams that hbo troony or her mutt costar

I dont find Hamm as charming as he finds himself. Like a salesman.
Sarah Gadon found him very charming.
