People buy things when they're scared and you can effectively price gouge the upper-middle to upper class with whatever prices you want with the promise of saving their families in Vaults from nuclear extinction.
What the frick are you going to do with the money you gouge out of them when society is destroyed and the economy runs on bottle caps?
This is why society is shit
People ask questions like this when a person just talks shit, and the person just doesn't have to answer and there's no consequence.
Further down the line you reach a point where everybody's just bullshitting. Not necessarily lying, bu it not giving a shit if what they're saying is accurate or even sensible. Just saying words because people "know" that smart people "talk alot" so they just say whatever
It's how you get shows like this with God awful writing and a seemingly general decline in the complexity of society.
>getting short term cash from price gouging max 3000 people but also everything is totally fricked and all your factories and infrastructure is gone >or continue making frickloads of money owning the largest domestic robot company for the forseeable future
hmmm decisions decisions
>Make enough money so that you can accomplish everything you want and do it quickly >Or keep slowly making money you don't really even need anymore forever
I know it's hard to understand as poorgay
>short term gains better than long term >calling anybody a poorgay
How much could they possibly be paying him to make up for potential decades of lost profits? Not to mention all the shit he uses to make money (robot factories) are now bombed into rubble. Also we know for a fact that many of the vaults did not require an admission fee and the candidates were selected for the specific experiments.
If it turns out House won Vegas in the game then Hank fricked up his revenue source and plan by destroying the NCR and House isn't going to be very happy with him when he shows up.
House probably saved more lives than anyone when the bombs were dropping, those laser cannons he put on the roof of the lucky 38 were shooting down nukes left and right.
Nothing about his casino operation is rigged, you can get banned from all of them for winning too much money to the point it looks like you're the one cheating. He simply gives them the choice to gamble and have fun. House doesn't force anyone to blow their life savings on roulette.
Dumbass writers incapable of nuance.
They see all the young people love anti-capitalist stuff so they're like "oohhh yeah, capitalists are so bad that they would nuke the whole planet to make money! that makes sense, right?"
They aren't capable of making something with roughly the same message (capitalists are greedy and self-destructive) that actually makes sense. Like say the military industrial complex pushing for war with China (in order to make money off weapons sales) which eventually leads to nuclear war. That's too much for them to write out, they would rather just skip all the in-between steps.
Maybe there could be a way to write it so it would be their most financially successful quarter ever and since that's all MBAs have been trained to care about and the organisation gaslights it self to think the outcome is going to be so bad but it would be hard to do and they didn't
I'll bet they changed the lore because they didn't want to upset China.
they changed the lore because it's pro-communist and like most Hollywood creations, secretly backed by the cia/government.. nuance often means sympathetic, and they can't have their opponents being shown in any sympathetic light for the propaganda to take effect.
I'm not a Housegay and view him as mostly just an unreliable giga egotistical moron with SOME inventions to back himself up but jesus christ, I feel bad for Housegays after the show
>"You make trillions of dollars that increase in value when all civilization is destroyed."
It's basically a bunch of champagne socialist writers not understanding any economics.
>earning potential
reminder that this was a line written by the people that thought bottle caps are the most valuable currency in a post-apocalyptic world
Pinning everything on an absurdly evil corporate conspiracies is so lame. It wasn't hyper nationalism, or overpopulation, or existential fear, or wanting to survive by grabbing scarce resources, or the litany of reasons that the Fallout 2 intro glosses over in explaining how war never changes. Nope, it was very simple: just evil Umbrella tier corporate shit. It's actually greed that never changes I guess
Remember how the first Fallout explained the apocalypse as "war. war never changes" and that quote got repeated on every fallout game ever since? yeah it wasn't actually war, some israelites just want more money. Also they're so powerful that they can launch nukes behind the governments back so they use that power to destroy the world so they can rule over the scraps left behind.
The idea was that they already knew the apocalypse is inevitable and were planning what to do about it or after it. That's why they were even there. Each and every one of them knew the writing on the wall.
What they were deciding though is what to do AFTER the apocalypse hits and in the new capitalist-only world to come. And they wanted to prepare for that and make sure THEY come out on top and not some other faction. They even spell it out for you that they're even competing against each other and see that as fair play.
>The idea was that they already knew the apocalypse is inevitable and were planning what to do about it or after it.
This, BTW, is copied directly from Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. That was the big twist in the Resident Evil movies. That Umbrella saw the apocalypse as inevitable, and decided to act first so that they could maintain control of the situation and ride out the storm.
You know you could have this make some sort of sense if all of these people were very low level on the billionaire tier and after realising they'll never be able to overcome the monopolies of all the truly ultra rich, they decide to flip the board by dropping nukes so they can start the game of capitalism over in the best position. But all of the people in that room were already the most powerful people in the world so yeah this is completely moronic.
It's probably the worst scene in the entire show just because of how stupid it is and there's no way to retcon this. I'm literally only watching for Ella Purnell
The meeting was being led by a senior vice president and his assistant. Based on that, I'd guess that the main guy watching was either the president of Vault Tec or Enclave.
House isn't on board with these guys, its an obvious red herring. He's the only one in the room to suggest any sort of hesitancy at the plan, and also never suggests any vault proposals of his own, which every other character in the room is extremely eager to do right after hearing the proposition. He's clearly just playing his cards close to his chest and has his own plans. Theres also the mysterious man that was in the boardroom, which suggests the person Hank intends to visit is not House. Red herring. I swear to god some of you morons need plot handed to you on a baby spoon.
how do you make profits if you kill all your workers and consumers and destroy your logistics and production lines?
it's funny that leftoids who work for globohomosexual corporations like amazon and write these garbage shows don't even understand how corporations operate
The games, while critical of capitalism, are mostly about jingoism causing the war. This is more relevant than ever as America is back to 50s style jingoism complete with proxy wars against Russia, McCarthy style paranoia about all political opposition being Russian agents, and threats of nuclear war.
Ironically the fact it's so relevant is why any trace of this has to be erased. Any criticism of jingoism would be seen as pro-Russian now. So they replace it with this cartoon supervillain plot from evil CEOs.
honestly I was very happy he appeared.
Jews want to get us into ww3 irl
People buy things when they're scared and you can effectively price gouge the upper-middle to upper class with whatever prices you want with the promise of saving their families in Vaults from nuclear extinction.
>People buy things when they're scared
People don't buy things when they are dead, though.
>price gouge the upper-middle to upper class
What are you going to buy after the nukes fall?
This is why society is shit

>He heckin saved lives!
Because he wants to exploit them for money, moron. EVIL. CAPITALIST.
Nothing about his casino operation is rigged, you can get banned from all of them for winning too much money to the point it looks like you're the one cheating. He simply gives them the choice to gamble and have fun. House doesn't force anyone to blow their life savings on roulette.
His defense network destroyed like 60 nukes and only a few hit areas around outer nevada.
No need to repeat yourself.
You’re not supposed to think when you’re watching slop. You’ll annoy both the slop spooners and slop slurpers.

Yeah probably.
They could have at least changed it to Russia or something.
Maybe there could be a way to write it so it would be their most financially successful quarter ever and since that's all MBAs have been trained to care about and the organisation gaslights it self to think the outcome is going to be so bad but it would be hard to do and they didn't
Or maybe the vaults had been a financial disaster and the liquidators were coming to break up the company so they started WW3
they changed the lore because it's pro-communist and like most Hollywood creations, secretly backed by the cia/government.. nuance often means sympathetic, and they can't have their opponents being shown in any sympathetic light for the propaganda to take effect.
if its secretly backed by the cia/government, how do you know?
because there's evidence like a division of the military that approves scripts. project mockingbird. etc etc
>backed by cia
>be anti capitalism, anti american etc...
What's the logic here ?
They have to write about "capitalism bad" because they wouldn't dare portray communism (and China especially) in a bad light.

It was all of those things
Remember how the first Fallout explained the apocalypse as "war. war never changes" and that quote got repeated on every fallout game ever since? yeah it wasn't actually war, some israelites just want more money. It's not confirmed that they actually dropped the bomb.
But war never changes.
>capitalists
>destroying all their capital
genius writing
Can't believe you low IQ chuds.

That's cool except they ruined that idea by saying Vault Tec can drop le first bomb
they literally say in that meeting that they want to trigger the apocalypse by dropping the bomb themselves

They still had the Enclave and its shadow government to deal with plus all those soldiers that ended up forming the Brotherhood
>Act Ma'am clapped when he saw Mr House even though he isn't the same character
