tbf it felt like you had been left with choices to make, you had been told what The Matrix was and could see it; from then on, it was up to you to take the redpills or keep on taking the blue ones.
That we had witnessed a cinematic game changer, the same feeling we had after Terminator 2 and especially Jurassic Park. 90s -early 2000s had some really great stuff.
I just saw the 25th rerelease. And even in modern times, it's one of the best theater experiences I've ever had. Completely forgot how awesome this movie was. In 1999, it had to blow everyone's mind.
>realizing zoomers & below will never know that feeling of walking out of a packed theater while the music still blaring & people calmly clapping in appreciation after witnessing groundbreaking cinema that's on everyone's shared social consciousness
The concept that I may be living in a simulation was completely new to my 9th grade brain. Follow this with Fight Club and you can see why I'm here at 40.
It was a rush. I didn't realize going in that I was about to see the best action movie since T2. Once Neo stopped the bullets everyones popcorn flew up in the air and several people were whooping and hollering up the aisles, most had their jaws swiftly acquainted with the floor, but others like myself sat back cracked opened another crableg and soaked in kino of the highest order at its height during the height of sci-fi kino.

Jurassic Park and The Matrix are the only movies I saw 3 times in the theatre. I’m 36 by the way.

Are they using the original film or is it just some gay blu-ray blown up?
It'd probably be the same master used for the blu-ray, but they would run a DCP, not the blu-ray.

I'm watching this right now. The comments say there is a scene with a sign that says, "For those who love to eat shit."
I think the original Matrix was too powerful a message and many counter measures were taken against it.
I remember being confused about the plot. I didn't get it the first time.
sneed
Didn't see it at the theater, but I did see it at my buddies house shortly after it came out on dvd.
I honestly felt strange after watching it. I remember walking home at night thinking about the film, knowing I had just seen something really special.
I was 9 when I saw it and I remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever. It was one of those rare movies I wanted to see a second time.
Mindblown. We hang around the mall talking about the movie for hours.
Getting to experience fellowship / matrix in that period of time was so amazing
When I was a kid I just wanted Fellowship to end. The movie took forever.
Like I had watched a kino that will never be surpassed. Because I did.
