And again after another two years. And again after another year. I went back to using q-tips and now my ears and hearing are fine.

I had to make an appointment with a doctor to vacuum the wax and all this ear drop shit out. It was a miserable week waiting for my scheduled appointment to come.
Clean your fricking ears. Use q-tip. Just don't lobotomize yourself like a moron and you'll be fine.

I'm a for funsies free diver and I use qtips to prevent impaction too. Something about the water + pressure can really frick you up if you don't do a little maintenance.
The anti qtip hysteria is overblown. The original medical advice was originally directed at people who thought their ears should be free of wax all the time. OCD type stuff that ends up giving you an ear infection because you're constantly wiping out your body's natural defenses. It was never meant to be "don't ever stick something in your ear ever or else".
I clean mine by pouring in a mixture of half hydrogen peroxide and half water and letting it sit there for a few minutes. Gets all the gunk out
If you have an actual impaction it can take hours of hot water soaks to get it out. You don't want to use hydrogen peroxide for more than a few minutes.
It's also no fun being 3/4ths deaf.
Yeah, I don't understand how people can just live with itchy ears. You don't need to shove it all the way in just stick the tip in a little and wipe around a bit after a shower every so often it ain't hard.
