i'm not wasting 2 hours of my life to watch a movie about wieners.
I liked it, it felt like the first kids movie in a while that didn’t have some kind of awful underlying message shoehorned into the plot. I loved the first movie as a kid, and I was surprised they still included a brutal chicken death (with all the visceral sounds of a chicken being eviscerated in a machine). They also made tweedy a mudshark which was pretty funny.

Her voice sounded the same. The truth is that she's not famous or diverse enough, a big no no for voice acting in modern animation.
Diverse voice actors make no sense to me in a kids film, kids dont know or care who voicing some chicken, a lot of kids think they are real talking animals
btw my kids loved the film, they liked molly more than ginger so gingers voice actor doesn't really matter
The same happens with "musicians" who do voice acting for the current mainstream children's movie (i.e. Trolls shit)
In principal the actor shouldn't matter, only their voice and how they sound. In practice, modern animated movies now have a requirement to be 'star-studded' so they can sell the movie easier. That's why the original Ginger VA was replaced - not well known enough. Also why Mel as Rocky was booted - too controversial.

Boring predictable plot and all the characters seemed to be dumbed-down versions of themselves which always happens when a sequel happens that was never asked for. The performances were nowhere near as good as the original VAs.
Who's the nog?
It's a shame they didn't have the original cast because they were much better voice actors, but it was very enjoyable, wasn't preachy at all which was nice.

Hell no, he was goofy but dumb? Nah.
Way too much zany action and not enough focus on the characters and how they planned their heist. First movie was fun because it worked well as a parody of prisoner of war movies, plus the dark atmosphere for a kids' film raised the stakes. The crazy action sequence at the end felt earned given all the characters had worked for. This one was like 80% zany action, just the characters escaping impossible situations over and over again.
That being said the action was well choreographed and the art direction was fantastic, so overall it wasn't bad. But it certainly didn't live up to the studio's reputation, and it lacked the soul that made the original Chicken Run so good.
