For what it's worth, I think he's a true original. One of the last from-the-ground-up phenomenas in film. Nowadays, everything seems like an industry plant. Everyone is some tycoons son or daughter, famous for being famous. And the worst part is we've been taught to like it. Not him though. There's just something about him.

It's interesting too, because with Saw X, he finally becomes a full on hero. Nearly 20 years after establishing himself as an unforgettable villain, he is arguably the last great American hero.

        Anonymous

He was turning into an anti-hero of sorts from at least Saw V as his victims were loan sharks, corrupt corporates, the health care industry and neo-Nazis. He barely targeted people like that depressed dude who just wanted a few days off work.

The Saw series really is a miracle of storytelling. Being able to get people to root for a mass murderer is a quite the twist.

What if the doctor from Human Centipede and JigC linked up?

      Anonymous

No, I don't think that kind of thing has a place in the JigCU. It's interesting. Something about JigC allows him to perfectly straddle the line that is acceptably extreme and grimy violence. Stuff like Human Centipede or that gore clown that gets inorganically shilled here is gross and anti human. For the ugly side of life that JigC shows, there is also the positive and life affirming side. At the root of it, I do think that this advantage to the Saw movies is at least partially rooted in the Trinity-esque construction at its core. That is to say, we see the distinct and complementary elements of John Kramer, Billy the Puppet, and JigC woven throughout the series in a way that is exhilarating, satisfying, and even uplifting to varying extents depending on the picture.

        Anonymous

I’m just saying that JigC’s impish trickster persona could be heightened with some body-horror type traps. Instead of rusted mechanisms, how about a whole human sewed to one side of your body and you have to rip yourself away from them and fight for the bandaids or something. I think that would really rock.

          Anonymous

Well, it's not for me personally but I don't want to downplay the legitimacy of your vision. As long as people are starting with the first principle that we should wind up with something that rocks, I think we're on good footing to create a good cultural setting and wind up with some great movies and even expanded universe content.

JigC doesn't take himself seriously, he's a sort of antithesis to raw, ideological, or philosophical villains. He's an imp, sitting bemused on the sidelines, haunting the wires, but at the end of the day he knows it's all futile, he doesn't take himself seriously. He isn't afraid to rock out.

Yeah, I really think that's true.

Why is the idea of him traveling so appealing? Like a traditional Saw movie mixed with Rick Steves style travelogueing. Whatever the reason, there's just something very appealing about it.

        Anonymous

I think it's because JigC has a soul that yearns for a joi de vivre even in the darkest of times. He has to do what he does because of his cancer and the conditions of society around him, but if those shackles didn't bind him, he would love to travel. In essence, seeing JigC travel would be like making his dream come true. We all feel it, so seeing it come to fruition gives us a pleasure release.

JigC tries to kidnap Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger but they all just big league him and walk off. JigC spends the rest of the movie crying until the scream guy and pennywise show up to tell him it's okay to be second best. The post credits scene is Art from Terrifier holding an actual jigsaw and making a confused face.

Freddie Kruger cuts a rap dissing JigC and JigC chokes when he steps to the mic.

          Anonymous

I disagree, I think Jigsaw's devious and impish trickster personality would shine through no matter the situation. For example when Freddie begins rapping JigC could already be spinning a grand and inescapable web of intrigue around him that would force him to lose, perhaps the air he was breathing was helium and it made his voice sound high pitched. Then when it's JigC's turn he reveals a previous recording he made that's in Freddie's own pocket which he asks Freddie to play and the sickest rap comes out after which the recording explodes and JigC rides off on his motorcycle. You can't beat that.

            Anonymous

But your see anon JigC looks down and Freddie was the motorcycle and JigC screams and wakes up and he's still at the mic and has choked and spilled his spaghetti and he fumbles in his pocket for a tape player but it's just spaghetti. And Freddy laughs at him and says "Way to spill the spaghetti, b***h!".

And then it’s revealed that was all in Zep’s head because JigC never sleeps.

Yes, I think I could do it. Writing and aspects of production at least. Hashing out the rights/licensing would be difficult, but it is doable. It makes sense to ground the core of the series in the world of Saw because that is the franchise that is knocking out of the park in terms of budget vs. profit. It can be done cheaply and effectively. Bring the other franchises/studios/rights holders in with budget/profit sharing. They get to reenergize their properties and benefit directly from pictures within the JigCU. And obviously, JigC is the mastermind archetype capable of bringing it all together, Assembling the U, of sorts.

The ease of Amanda's Trial. Amanda murdered a man who she thought was already dead. What about her ex prison cellmate. (Drew Grease, or whatever his name was). Just kidnapped that dude and let him get stabbed before he ever wakes up and sees the puppet or hears a video. Most unfair death in the franchise.

    >Hard Mode
I thought this was obvious after seeing Saw 10. The little kid, Carlos, (the Mexican kid totally gave a bogus name) is going to be all grown up in the current point on the timeline. Jiggle D. Saul is dead, and a new person needs to takeover. A real prodigy.

Love the movies. As they were coming out people said they dropped off in quality. But not really marathoning them. It's more like a tv show you can marathon now. As the movies came out the time gap was too big too keep up with plot details you could forget over the years. But just sitting down for a day to watch them all, they are all pretty solid. I will say the first 4 are a highlight though. Saw X was great
