All I hear is that it starts great and later becomes shit. Is it true or did normies just didn't understand what's going on? Is it still worth watching?

Never heard of it. What is it about?
Dead people on an island and what they did in their shitty lives that condemned them.
> Dead people on an island
The island is not the afterlife.
Based on its reputation, you'd think it turned into Under the Dome or something, but even in its final (and weakest) season, it's still good with regular flashes of greatness.
It's like every other show that relies on an unsolved mystery. Mystery box shows, zombie apocalypse, etc ... the origin is the best part and you never get to it because writers rely on gimmicks instead of creative writing.
its fantastic all the way through
you do though, why would you lie
It's kino. Go for it.
Show was great but afterlife bullshit ruined it.
I didn't watch it when it was on TV; I saw it years later on streaming. I thought it was just okay.
First couple seasons are kino, top tier television. But they lost the plot with going back to the island and smoke monsters and all that stupid shit
That's the problem with JJ Abrams and his mystery boxes. He creates set ups without thinking of satisfying pay offs. Idk why he still hasn't learned how moronic that is. He even gave a Ted talk out how great his shitty mystery boxes are lol how arrogant
Is it really JJ Abrams responsible for this aspect though? Everything he’s done since then has been so unremarkable that it’s unclear to me exactly what he was bringing to the table.
JJ Abrams just directed the first couple of episodes, he had almost no input on the rest of the show. Also if you do any amount of research on the actual writing process they DID have pay offs for everything they set up (and everything does get a pay off at some point) but top down decisions from the Network made them have to revise their plans a couple of times, even then they managed to still fit in most of their original pay off plans. Saying "they didnt pay anything off" is a sign that you are a moron
It could only exist during a time where the time of the syndicated television, goading people to be excited for the next episode.
First 3 seasons were great. Give it a watch.
It's fun and good. The ending is fine.
It's kino. It has a lot of flaws, but it's entertaining all the way until the end
>Is it still worth watching
20 fricking years later?
>Statistically correct diversity and no homos
Why not?
Yes. Why wouldn't I enjoy something good 200 years later?
Not Breaking Bad but still better than GOT
Breaking Bad sucks you have terrible taste
Filtered.
i dont think its possible to be filtered to by breaking bad, its one of the most straight forward, normie friendly shows ever made, virtually 0 subtext, incredibly obvious and broad
It's true. First four seasons are kino, 5 is still good but the story and structure starts to get really messy, 6 is an abomination
filtered, hard
I guessed the "secret" around the beginning of season 2 when it was first on TV. Then the show runners denied it was the case because others guessed it. Then it turns out we all guessed right and the show was fricking stupid. It's like Game of Thrones. Once you watch it once you never have to nor want to watch it again.
the ending did follow from the themes set up in the first season. whatever criticisms people had of S6, they did follow up on what they initially set up, like Locke explaining the black & white checkers pieces to Walt in S1. There is a payoff, and thanks to good acting by Terry O'Quinn and co., emotional payoff as well. I think it is worth watching.
the CGI in lost is amazing
not just the cgi
Best tv show I've ever watched and always the top of my recommendations to anyone else. Try and stay out of this thread though, the mystery is a core part of the show so the more you read the more you're taking away from your enjoyment.
Don't believe anyone who says it's *just* mystery though.
It's like in Orange is the new Black, they pump out so many episodes and seasons with not high enough entertainment value that it gets hard to stick by. It's not a bad show but not that great either.
