What do you think is going to happen when one of the Simpsons family members (most likely Marge) is physically unable to do the voice anymore? Do you think they'll go with an impersonator, or would you guess FOX is already dabbling with AI as a replacement?

They already had enough self respect to stop using Barts teacher when she passed away.
Also Tress, Julie Kavner, Harry Shearer are getting old they can’t stick around forever.
How would AI even be able to pull off a scratchy voice like Marge.
If AI was considered they would have already used them now since Marges voice hasn’t been good in years.
They would do a time skip quite frankly. They've been dying to do one for ages (note the number of flash forward episodes and the writer who spent the bulk of his time writing Bart like he's in his 20s to recycle his rejected romcom scripts onto the show) and have Homer visit the kids alone now that they are young adults to try and salvage his relationships with them.
Bullshit on the Edna stuff.
They took about five years to even write an episode dealing with her death and had her die off-panel and only acknowledged it prior to said episode with a badly written add on to an existign episode where Ned and Edna dance in Ned's dream and wake up sad, while Nelson does a vague as frick bit where he goes "ha ha... oh frick she's dead" one liner.
And in turn, during the gap before they acknowledged her death, we got a ton of crappy substitute teacher episodes each worse than the one before it as they danced around saying Edna was dead and when they finally found a replacement, it was a big name actress who did like a single episode before fricking off, meaning writers basically gave up on doing stories with Bart at school. And they fricked up Ned so badly we ended up with multiple flashback episodes with Maude still alive so they could sidestep dealing with Ned's grief (let alone Skinner's grief).
They should have just recast Edna because the alternative was way worse,
A timeskip with Nancy still voicing Bart would be a bit ridiculous. That being said it's hard to imagine a fitting older male voice for him.
I think I’m going to continue to not care because I haven’t watched The Simpsons in years.
AI
>How would AI even be able to pull off a scratchy voice like Marge.
No one has had a billion dollar reason to push AI voice generation to do it.
It would be cool if they went with it and there was a season it two of the family moving on from Marge's death
Might be a good opportunity to age the Simpsons children so they can see if they can babysitter each other or how Homer can raise them on his own or if he starts to finally date other women to see who can take marge’s place.
All companies will get into ai voice acting in the coming years. Why should they? If you think people care about voice actors think again. The only voice actors idiot normies may pretend to care about are celebrity voice actors voicing cartoon characters. And these days that's a huge stretch.
Not to mention that voice actors have no leg to stand on if companies decide to start NEW properties that debut with ai voice actors so there is no old hack parasite voice actor who is getting ripped off in the process. No matter what you think is going to happen in the end human voice actors are going Bye Bye. The era of job security for voice actors is coming to an end. And I am happy for it. Companies are shit but The Simpsons voice actors manage to behave like bigger shit to the point I want to see them unemployed especially Lisa's voice actress.
Why are AI advocates so spiteful? I rarely see an argument in favor of the actual technology.
General disdain for the human race
Does it even generate money anymore?
The Simpsons is a reason why people pay for Disney Plus.
>The Simpsons is a reason why people pay for Disney Plus.
are there any edits in the episodes besides removing the MJ episode?
AFAIK no, outside of the earlier seasons having a fricked up aspect ratio that has sense been fixed.

What is?
They'll do an impersonator. AI is simply not good enough to do the job, it would sound worse than an impersonator.
Marge’s voice already sounds horrible. The actress can’t do it anymore. They just don’t have it in them to fire her.
>Don't have it in them
More like she'd probably sue if they tried to replace her. If I was making six figures an episode I'd sink my claws in and never let go
Have Homer remarry and continue the show without her. Thats another 10 seasons worth of content.
They'd have to justify someone actually falling in love with the current Homer and loving him enough to want to marry him. Which was maybe feasible back in s1-s10, but it would be the equivalent of marrying a moronic child with how he is now. Plus, let's be real, no one would like the new wife after they've done so many episodes to validate Marge and Homer's marriage.
>Have Homer remarry and continue the show without her. Thats another 10 seasons worth of content.
You might be onto something there anon. Maybe they can do what Roseanne, I mean The Conners did and get Leela in to voice the new wife.
Best case scenario
>And by now lets face reality these shitty one hit wonders
Dan Castellaneta and Nancy Cartwright are not one-hit wonders.
>It's not awful
>proceeds to say more awful things
You're very rude
Homer gets a new wife
Marge dies. New wife that looks just like Marge.
Reboot
death
AI will easily be good enough for that in 2 years, the family gets paid royalties and the show goes on forever
Simpsons without Marge would make a good show
They should kill Marge off and make the Simpsons a gritty drama where Homer is a widowed broken man and Bart and Lisa mature way quicker than they want to.
Can't they simply use audio archives from the past seasons to replicate the voice actors?
With that much sound footage and emotional range, it should be pretty easy to do it.
Just have another voice actor say the lines and mask it with the AI.
Although i'm pretty sure the bigger problem is the legal issues not the actual tech itself.
