I don't know. I grew up obsessed with plush videos as a kid, but I never really found SML to be funny or interesting.
It's brainrot shit but it's a true example of how the internet cuts to the heart of what appeals to kids regardless of whether it's age-appropriate or copyright friendly

What bothers me is that there are a significant amount of people I've seen who are actually fans of this as adults and actually complain about how it "fell off" or "is bad now". There is no adult out there who should find this nostalgic or entertaining and you should be ashamed if you are.
From what little ive seen its actually surprisingly funny. Maybe thats just a testament to how far my sense of humor has rotted down but yeah i do in a way see the appeal

Same, I'd say they were pretty decent until about a year ago. Nearly all the Nintendo characters written out in exchange for OC, destroying the castle for something more legally distinct, cutting out swearing and gags like Mario's nudity. If they redesign Mario, I'm leaving.
