not really. the joke is that he's immature and still uses childish language
you still couldn't make that joke today though. "homosexual" is almost like the Black person word now where you're not allowed to say it in any context, even if the joke is that you shouldn't say it. You couldn't have the line be "Paging Dr. Black person"
1 was mediocre and the only funny bits involved Mr chow. (Which were admittedly hilarious, but only because of him)
Movie appeals to people in their teens or possibly early 20s who are just experiencing getting drunk and partying for the first time, because they probably relate to the wacky antics etc.
I think it could've been slightly better with a better cast. The 3 friends didn't have any chemistry and the bearded character being borderline moronic was just strange.
Never watched the sequels.
Along with superbad I'll never understand how this type of comedy was/is so popular. I didn't get it then and I don't get it now.
They are the kinds of situations which might be fun and entertaining if you were experiencing them personally, but watching other people enact them on a screen is just an ordeal.
I thought it was pretty shit, but I remember people being obsessed with it. It's one of those bro comedies where dudes watch it and actually try to tell people their lives are totally like that dude.
Remember seeing it when it came out in the theater, we were like 10 people but the laughter filled the entire room. A product of it's time. Liked the sequel even tho it's hated, don't care about the third one but at least they did something different with it.
Something like Road Trip (which wasn't great itself) shits all over this garbage and has the same basic premise, but that didn't get half the recognition The Hangover did. I have no idea what it is about this movie which made it so popular. Even today it has a 7.7 on imdb, absolutely insane.

yes you could. no one is stopping you
I saw the first one at a drive in theater when it came out and remember enjoying it, but I don't think it warranted 2 sequels, so I didn't watch them.
the first movie is one of the greatest comedies of all time. 2 and 3 are pretty gay, leaning into more shock/cringe humor and mean spirited jokes.
it's great, and i miss these type of comedies
2nd was the only good one
>Literally the exact same movie except way more gross out humor
No it was shite
>Paging Dr. homosexual
It was a different time
not really. the joke is that he's immature and still uses childish language
No the joke is that a homosexual could be a doctor.
It’s great but obviously very few people on Cinemaphile can relate to it
2 is a lesser copy of the first movie
3 is just terrible

I did not laugh once. Literally the peak of 2000s stupid, loud, and random comedy.
me on the left
very much a product of it's time. It doesn't hold up well at all but I can understand why the first one was so successful when it came out
In what ways does it not hold up
Not that guy but it didn't hold up a day after it was finished.
PAGING DOCTOR homosexual
Dude weed
The first one was fine. I couldn't believe how the second one was literally the exact same movie
The Hangover is the Dane Cook of comedy movies.
I never bothered seeing the sequals.

>think of the Hangover series
the last time there was an actual main cast of ONLY white men
no israelites (although a israelite directed that). just white men doing whacky shit.
the end of an era.

3 was weird with the whole treasure of the sierra madre thing

Always avoided them and still haven't seen any.
Was a better stand alone movie. Bullshit Doug never got to go on the adventure.
vegas is a shithole that I wouldn't wish upon anyone
