I would hate that a lot. Doug deserves every ounce of criticism he got from OneyPlays but now he's a fan favorite because he didn't react "poorly" like Linkara.
They obviously don't actually dislike Nostalgia Critic. They just think his mannerisms are funny/weird. He's more like an endearing character or guilty pleasure at best. I know this is foreign idea to many people here: but you can make fun of something and still find entertainment/value in it. They obviously don't hate Linkara either, but the fact that he got mad over their parodies makes it funnier because he can't handle the banter and Doug can. Doug is clearly bro-tier just because of that.
You can tell Chris & Zach genuinely like Doug but every time I've heard Dingdong & Julian talk about him it feels like they genuinely hate him, especially Julian
A while back I kept talking about how Supermega threw Oneyplays under the bus in one of their podcast episodes and I finally found it after months of searching kek.
The first 11 minutes they're talking about their past selves and just reflecting on who they were and trying to "find themselves" and their "voice" during their first years of riding the coattails of other people.
But at 11:50 Matt starts talking about Oneyplays and saying shit like they felt the need to act edgy because of who they were surrounded by. The conversation ends at 12:56. Nothing wrong with wanting to grow as a person, but don't frickin shift half blame or complete blame on someone else. No one told you to act like them
that's something i didn't notice, but i wouldn't put it past me. Julian tends to run his mouth and calling shit embarrassing when he's clearly 20 times worse. DingDong has a bizarre fricking victim complex and wants to people, for whatever reason, to hate him so he can have something to cry about.
Eh, I don't think that matt's calling Oneyplays bad or anything. He's just saying that it's a more unfiltered style of show then supermega is in terms of humour. Just because he saying it's for a different audience doesn't make it bad. And honestly some of the matt clips from the first kingdom hearts game where he just chimes in with a /b/ level remark are kinda cringey.
That would be really good. Like the person they are trying to help is either in a cult or a leader of a cult. And at the end, they either leave the cult or disband it.

I'm not saying the creators shouldn't, it's their show, I'm saying they shouldn't be constantly focusing on adding their friends in who clearly can't voice act if they want the show to last more than 2 seasons. The thing that made South Park unique was that the entire show looked like crap and was basically a glorified puppet show, so the voice acting also being shit added to the comedy. This show is clearly trying to be well made but they are using voice actors who sound like they're making a mockery out of the entire thing which doesn't gel well in my opinion.
The furious mish-mash of styles and quality makes it funny and engaging to me. I think a lot of people feel the same way. The friend voices haven't bored me yet.
If inconsistent quality appeals to you, go ahead. I don't really care much, I just see the show's potential and think it's currently being wasted on people who can't act.
All the voice acting has been good so far so I don't know what the problem is.
