I was kinda letdown by their stuff once I finally got to it. The frist Toxic Avenger movie is pretty neat, if you're gonna give them a go I'd start there.
Tromeo and Juliet (James Gunn's first credit afaik and featuring Sean Gunn and Motorhead's Lemmy) is a legitimate work of Art. The soundtrack is also god-tier.
After that and Toxic Avenger it's somewhat diminishing returns though they did distribute Parker & Stone's Cannibal the Musical. Any aspiring filmmaker should have Kaufman's Make Your Own Damned Movie on the shelf next to Syd Field's Screenplay.
I really like Toxic Avenger but I haven't really explored the rest of their catalog yet. I've heard good things about Class of Nuke 'Em High, so I was going to give that one a go some time.
The fact that you even had to make this image shows how far /hor/ has fallen and it's your fault because you people insist on making threads throughout the year instead of 2-3 months out of the year around fall/Halloween. I weep for /hor/.
Are you going to throw another tantrum and start spamming homosexual fantasies again?

Yeah, I guess there are plenty of blacked addicted coomers who seethe about gore in horror movies and post the exact same way on Cinemaphile

You are the ONLY ONE who brought it up you fricking mindbroken spastic. Whatever anon you're seething at has turned you into exactly what he is and you're too moronic to see it. Now kindly have a nice day.

You’re not smart enough to trick people moron, we know it’s you.
People warned you in the thread where this first went down that you’d never escape it, I can’t understand why you’re surprised

There actually is a guy in the /hor/ threads that does the shit he's talking about.

>I can't take people mocking me for watching interracial cuck porn >VGH, Cinemaphile has fallen
don't let the door hit you on the way out
>you people insist on making threads throughout the year instead of 2-3 months out of the year around fall/Halloween.
Except these type of posters actually come out more around Halloween, unfortunately.
They don't, and when they do, they're easier to ignore because the activity level is higher. These kinds of people thrive and sink their hooks in during the off-season threads when activity is slow and nobody has anything to talk about.
>I really like Toxic Avenger but I haven't really explored the rest of their catalog yet. I've heard good things about Class of Nuke 'Em High, so I was going to give that one a go some time.
Nuke 'Em High is really good. Troma Wars is solid too.
Genuinely a forced "cult" production company.
They just keep churning out garbage for a non-existent fanbase they like to pretend they have. I don't think I've ever met someone who was a Troma fan, I would hard pressed to find more than two people that even liked the Toxic Avenger.
I ain't a big troma-fan. I've only watched the following and here's how I rank em.
A >The Toxic Avenger >Class of Nuke'em High >SGT. Kabukiman NYPD
B >(The Last Horror Film)
C >Terror Firmer >The Toxic Avenger 2
D >Surf Nazis Must Die >Blades >Redneck Zombies
To me it depends on the expectations you have. They're movies made on a low budget which you have to take into consideration. The Toxic Avenger is a good/great movie no matter what. It was an instant classic that established the genre "so bad it's good" (but made on purpose) while also being almost the sole evidence of how hard it is to make a "crappy" movie great.
As long as you know what you're in for the ABC-movies can be somewhat entertaining. The D-movies are bad though, you probably need supplement of either friends, drugs or both together to sit through them.
I should add that I find troma-movies often more entertaining than the few A24 I've watched (X, The Lighthouse, Hereditary, EEAAO?) with the exception of The Florida Project and other non-horror-flicks
Here's his first post in the thread where he admits to watching blacked, if anyone's curious. He's been a nuisance for a while, but he really hit a new high here
You're such a defeated little homosexual. You seriously thought you were nailing horror theses on the door of Cinemaphile, and you ended up admitting to jerking off to black men.
Absolutely pathetic
I don't really get this argument and I don't think you people really understand what "so bad it's good" means. In my experience, Troma films have been relatively competent gore-comedy films and that's all they really try to be as far as I'm aware. They're not "bad" films. There's a huge difference between a film trying to be "bad, thus funny" and a film just trying to be funny. Troma falls squarely into the latter field. The former always leads to failure.
I think what he's getting at is that the charm of a schlocky movie is in part the people making it not realizing that they're making crap.
Making crap on purpose and then saying "zomg look at how good bad this movie is" is just incredibly sad
Yeah, that's what I said. But I'm saying Troma makes competent comedy films, not "crap." They're aiming for tasteless comedy, not necessarily aiming to replicate low quality bad movies that are funny because they're bad.
I was kinda letdown by their stuff once I finally got to it. The frist Toxic Avenger movie is pretty neat, if you're gonna give them a go I'd start there.
I'm a fan, I know.
Pretty kino
Father's Day in particular is a masterpiece
I only know about it tangentially through James Rolfe.

>WHOA DUDE... THIS FILM HAS HECKIN' BLOOD AND GUTSERINO!
Go away.
Yeah, you're not wrong. Entertaining though.
>WHOA DUDE I'M TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL AND I HATE EVERYTHING
Yeah, that's a common trope in their movies. Especially their 80's output where that trope was really common. Try having some actual points next time.
>*tips*
>trope
I'm not talking to a redditor. Goodbye.
Shouldn't you be spamming /hor/ and talking about your blacked porn addiction?
no, I'm not russian.

Nice try homosexual, you'll never recover from admitting to jerking off to blacked
Stop projecting your obsession onto other people, you freak.

Nuke 'Em High is really good. Troma Wars is solid too.
Surf Nazis must die really sucked.
How about Tromeo and Juliet and Poultreygeist?
There's nothing that gets old fast quite like purposely shitty movies.
Genuinely a forced "cult" production company.

This is the person seething about gore on Cinemaphile FYI
Well if he wasn't here before, he's here now.
Here's his first post in the thread where he admits to watching blacked, if anyone's curious. He's been a nuisance for a while, but he really hit a new high here
I wasn't curious, thanks.

homosexual cuckold, you will always be laughed at on this board.
Reminder that there is a few gore-hating schizo cucks who love to spam horror related threads with their autism. Ignore them
I like gore but Troma sucks. It's forced "so bad it's good" shit
