What does Cinemaphile like as their "background noise" show? You know, the show you put on so that things aren't too quiet while you're doing laundry, dishes, or some other chore around the house?
I've been using the Columbo series as my background noise after I started watching it to understand all the memes about him I kept running into.
always sunny, seinfeld, curb, king of the hill, simpsons. seen all these so many times but they still make me laugh, great background noise.

These are all good. Family guy isn't good for genuine watching, but it's perfect as a background show too. You can watch for like 5 minutes between tasks then get up to continue whatever you're doing without missing out on the show.

Better than I expected! It's certainly dated aesthetically, but Peter Falk is surprisingly perfect as the brilliant but feigning incompetence main character. I didn't expect to enjoy the show this much, and if the lighting/sets/camera work were a little more modern I would probably be hooked.
Any time Patrick McGoohan or Jack Cassidy show up you know it's a kino episode.
It's the definition of comfy. You're always shown the crime in the beginning of the episode and then the rest is just watching Columbo slowly snare the guy while pretending to be a bumbling idiot.

background tv is not a zoomer thing. it has been very common for a long time to just put a tv on a channel and have it play in the background. only difference is people now have to pick a specific show rather than a channel.
