Morrowind > Daggerfall > Oblivion > Arena > Skyrim
Last games Todd Howard touched are Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Starfield looks like Fallout 4 with procedural generation and spaceships. TESO is terrible. Kirkbride is forgotten.
Honestly, I'd rather not have a new TES at all.
I like Daggerfall for mechanics.
Procedural generation is also itself not the issue with Starfield, the issue is that it's basically one of the few additions while the core of the game is still Fallout 4.
daggerfall and skyrim are my two favorites. daggerfall has the scale, and skyrim has travelling merchants and npcs which makes it feel more real. morrowind has neither, and oblivion is like morrowind but worse.
They're once in a generation games now. The teens who play Elder Scrolls 6 will fantizise about a Elder Scrolls 7 that wont come out till they're in their 30s. I still remember playing Skyrim at 17. Who would've thought id be in my 30s and there still isnt a Elder Scrolls 6. Nintendo is taking a simular approach with Mario. >6 years between Mario Kart 64 to Double Dash. 5 years between DD to Wii. 6 years between Wii and 8
Now, it's been over 9 years since a new Mario Kart, and it looks like it'll be (minimum) another 2-3 years before we get a new one
Wait a second
that has an iFunny watermark.
What are you some kind of funny guy? Some kind of clown? Some kind of joker? Some kind of Kramer type character? What are you some kind of comedian? Huh? Just what the hell are you trying to do buddy? What are you up to pal? Just what kind of jig are you trying to pull here eh?
the morrowind video is pure kino, but the other videos just don't do it for me, probably because it is the one he really wanted to make, the others were more of an obligation
GOAT sleep helpers, just set up the timer to stop playing after an hour
These aren't organically produced, and we need to stop seeing social media as naturally produced. Everything is geared towards gaming the algorythum. After Youtube started rewarding longer videos, they kept getting longer and longer videos until we reached this point.
This is the problem with modern youtube. Zoomers are just devoid of talent and charisma. They substitute making good points with shit memes and have nothing of value to say.
i think it must be depressing as hell to make them because your own audience doesn't care what you're saying. it's just about having some noise in the background. you could be making the stupidest statements imaginable during hour 11 out of 20 and nobody would complain as long as you said it with confidence. it's just screeching your autism into the void and the more you try to "analyze" the more meaningless your output becomes.
you already know that there is no reason for this to be so long but he is a moronic hacky autistic who can't condense his thoughts probably reiterates the same points several times.
PatricianTV is a confirmed homosexual and is likely using his discord to groom children. His boyfriend is a guy named PrivateSessions who he does these really awkward streams with.
Boring as all frick. If you want an review, just watch a review, if you want development background, just watch a making of, if you want to analyze the story, gameplay or setting and shit, just play the fricking game yourself instead of watching some homosexual tell you about it for 5 hours.
Fair enough if it's like half an hour long and some random retro game you will probably never play, but if you need more time than that you have failed as an editor.
At least those garbage drama "the rise and fall of a random Black person youtuber" is usually just a bunch of "facts" in a timeline and not a video game you could just play and experience yourself.
I watched parts of it because a friend of mine recommended some segments. It seems to be as much of an examination of the fanbase and the people who claim to have reviewed the game as a an examination of the game itself. The one I recall most is that there's a section where he calls out 99% of all reviews on the grounds that they all just parrot an opinion that one of the first reviewers stated as fact but just isn't so. I believe it had to do with the scaling of the magic system. The first guy clearly spent 15 minutes playing with it, then extrapolated and pulled a position out of his ass regarding the totality of the gameplay loop that's generally gone unchallenged for over a decade because apparently nobody else who made a review actually tried the loop either.
Not for one game, no. I watched some guy making a retrospective of Castlevania games and it was fine. 7 hours for an entire franchise is okay. 20 hours for one game is ridiculous.
because it a replacement for putting in minimal effort and actually playing the game/watching a movie
at least those ai voice movie recap channels are honest about it, and to the point
>"analysis" >90% of the video is just an agonizingly slow plot summary because they don't actually know how to analyze something and have nothing particularly insightful to say about the show/movie/game
No one actually watches these videos. They just put it on in the background while they play some sort of game. The owner knows this and shoves in hundreds of ads.
This. It's a product of it's time and explains why so many zoomers are hivemind losers. They don't play/watch something and then form opinions, they just "watch" one of these videos and say they did.
Yeah, the king of that shit is Pyrocynical. He made a 7 hour video about Utopia which was just a plot summary and got millions of views and money from it. Every single on of his videos is just that. Wikipedia readings which he gets paid for.
>Time to watch Pyrocinical's "review" of Utopia which spoils every single plot point: 7 hours 41 minutes >Time to actually just sit down and watch all of Utopia: 10 hours 19 minutes
Why would zoomers subject themselves to this?
They don't "have" to pay attention to a 7 hour video, it's just on the background and the half understood and idly heard plot points are all they know of the media in question. I would say they form their uninformed opinion from this, but they just repeat the video maker's eventual opinion.
How can anyone talk about Skyrim, one of the world most shallow rpgs for 20 fricking hours? I would undrestand New Vegas but like an hour at most for it.
Starfield is going to be mid and I'll never forgive Todd for wasting the time and resources that rightfully should have gone to Elder Scrolls, would love to be wrong tho
I watched Adam Curtis' Traumazone, a 7 hours video-documentary about the fall of the USSR and of the subsequent fall of democracy in Russia. I found it very interesting and I drew a lot of parallels to the current situation in the West. A 20 hpurs video about fricking video games sounds moronic
these people just make book forms out of their world views. Remember books? Thousands of pages, many lines of dialogue? Thats about similar to what they are putting out. Assuming you read 2/3x times faster than you speak, it means these are average books. Technically speaking not that very big either.
a couple days ago i saw a guy who does that, but only for like an hour an a half. it had some stupid title like "Cinemaphile stories for you sleepy heads"
I like how we still get waves of skyrim memes. I'm a zoomer on tiktok and every few months there will be a new cycle of skyrim memes.
It's actually insane that they haven't released a new Elder Scrolls. I remember looking forward to that in my teens. I'm 28 now.
that will be Todd's magnum opus.
Not sure I'll care in my 40s
Starfield has taken most of their development time and now that it's coming out, they can fully concentrate on the next Elder Scrolls game.

>Kirkbride is forgotten
Good. This druggie added nothing but pretentious books written in an incoherent style
Kirkbride ramblings filtered through competent but not as schizophrenic, maybe a bit bland, writers gave us kino that is Morrowind.
>Starfield looks like Fallout 4 with procedural generation and spaceships.
Considering you like Daggerfall so much. That seems right up your alley.
I like Daggerfall for mechanics.
Procedural generation is also itself not the issue with Starfield, the issue is that it's basically one of the few additions while the core of the game is still Fallout 4.

Cursed generation. As expected though from a blood line of millennials raised on goyslop.
lol, as if people havent been falling asleep to the tv for decades
t. gen x who leaves his tv on at all times
frick this shit tho video essays are garbage

this, i only watch opinion pieces on things i didnt consume
So that you can have an opinion formed for you because you don't know how to think for yourself? Gotcha.
>why would I agree with this sound bit? it is my exact opinion! why even share?
Stoklassa and his consequences have been a disaster for the internet.
timewasting crap for friendless zoomers
Waste of time, just like watching steamers playing games instead of playing it yourself. Never watched a single one in my life.
The ultimate midwit form of entertainment.
They're good background noise while working
Made by midwits for midwits
Short video essays are so much better

Disney killed that guy. His last video was anti-marvel when Marvel was still at the peak of it's popularity.
matthewmatosis was the only good vidya essayist

That’s what dating a woman is like yet normies ain’t complaining.

WHERE'S THE WITCHER 3 VIDEO, YOU HACK

I block these channels automatically.
the people who make them are based and the people who watch them should be executed and thrown in a mass grave
Who's an edgy boy?
>11:11:11
He made it that long just for that didn't he
Does he source the UESP?
>dude's a Stormcuck
Yeah, he's certainly a homosexual.
Didn't know. Subscribing immediately.
Not for one game, no. I watched some guy making a retrospective of Castlevania games and it was fine. 7 hours for an entire franchise is okay. 20 hours for one game is ridiculous.
>ludonarrative dissonance

>just slowly reading through what happens in the game
I don't think youtubers understand what analysis means
because it a replacement for putting in minimal effort and actually playing the game/watching a movie
at least those ai voice movie recap channels are honest about it, and to the point
morons rambling about bullshit.

Other people are doing it so it's the right thing to do.
They have low attention spans so they put on pyro's shitty "review" and then they play games.

I like new vegas but you are just begging to be called a troony
What?
Put it in 2x speed and play it on the second monitor
Zoomers don't even consume content. They consume someone else consuming content.
That's based though
Who's your favorite friend simulator?
Hasn't 4 the win
Hasan I meant
Is it?
>I just wanted to let you know I watched the entire thing in one sitting just as I was about to go to bed for work at 5am
Starfield is going to be mid and I'll never forgive Todd for wasting the time and resources that rightfully should have gone to Elder Scrolls, would love to be wrong tho
I prefer shorter funny ones that actually say something about the game. Not just regurgitating whats happening on the screen
Holy fricking soul. You can tell he had a blast making this.
As an actual beaner i find this hilarious. Good job gringo
>ESL
you are not gonna make it no matter how hard you try dipshit
The videos themselves are good but the pretentious viewers that they spawn are unbearable.
Should i play skyrim? I thought it was quite boring. No i will not mod it

Imagine if people put 10 hour long read out loud Cinemaphile threads on the background while doing the dishes
a couple days ago i saw a guy who does that, but only for like an hour an a half. it had some stupid title like "Cinemaphile stories for you sleepy heads"
