Actually. Weirdly enough, i do not remember my pubic hair status at that age at all, no.
But I’m really more speaking from a narrative and design standpoint than a realistic one. The focus on Maddie’s character in season 1 was on her relationship with her father, and they purposefully made her much more childlike. She looks like a late bloomer compared to all the girls in her class, more like a middle schooler than a high schooler, and her room has a lot of stuffed toys and cute chibi mascot animals on her clothes and stuff. And then season 2 came and they knew she was gonna get boned, so they aged her up between seasons.

>14 in season 1
coomer question aside, she would definitely have pubes by then
they definitely aged her up to make the sex plotline more palatable for normies, alongside dropping little hints about when season 2 takes place (2024) along with her being 16/17 (drivers license calculation) and caspian being 18
I think they had to cram season 3's plotline in there

I think her season 1 room was more just her being frozen in the same place she was when her dad died rather than actually being a kid since she was just a late bloomer compared to the rest of her High School classmates.

>i do not remember my pubic hair status at that age at all, no
You should cut it off and give it to your significant other in a pendant to remember you by.
Given the choice I'd take compressed over stretched out. Way too many shows go bloated and off the rails because the writers have certainty that they'll be renewed.
It was probably greenlit during the beginning of the pandemic where streamers were ordering large amounts of animated projects to keep producing content, then losing interest once restrictions were over and they could produce live action again.
is the dialogue audio still really shit in the first season? i know they got fricked over because of covid so everyone was recording on laptop mics and shit, but i couldn't ignore it and stopped watching halfway through the first episode
I think it’s less about quality and more about how easily accessible/ (and well advertised) a show is. If a show is a streaming service exclusive that isn’t something like Hulu or Netflix, that can hamper popularity a whole lot. Many people won’t even know the show exists.
I watched the first episode. Is this just that shitty Johnny Depp movie from 2014 or so?
I'll probably keep watching, but there better be shipping in this.
you're just fricking late and everything has already been discussed

Sure. I always wanted chinese grandparents. Not chinese parents, though.
It's a combination of very few people watching it because it aired on a moronic streaming service and got buried and the fact that it's good so there's not much to talk about. You can only have so many threads going around agreeing that it was good before people get bored and move on to other things. People make continuous threads about things that there is either ongoing material for or there's controversy for. I mean I can probably sum up everyone's opinion by saying "I really liked it, wish they had more time to flesh out the second season or had just given it a full third season for the last 2 eps." None of that is really controversial and I doubt it's gonna spark a 500 post thread.
Can't bring myself to watch season 2 because the conflict made no sense. The only correct action would be to neuter governments and subdue the unwashed masses but muh humanity. Also marry sues
the show never addressed the fact that a UI transfer is just a copy with the original being deleted, like the whole "star trek transporter kills you" debate
>simulates billions of realities each with billions of CI to run her babydaddy as a virtual machine >moves within a higher plane, which she controls access to, ganting it to very few >accuretly considers herself to be both a woman and a god
Does any character gaslight, gatekeep, and girlboss harder than Maddie?
Maybe it's a stupid thing to be hung up on but I thought there would be some significance to the waiter tripping in the first episode when chanda was in the restaurant.
I barely remember that part. But I think I do recall thinking during the restaurant scene in general that they were just reinforcing that general scene of a class divide and exploiting the lower classes for cheap servitude, which is what ended up happening to the first UIs.
Also I think I vaguely thought that mighta been a loose Flowers for Algernon reference, but I might be the only one seeing any connection there.
you guys notice that both caspian and maddie play pretty direct roles in deaths of their fathers? maddie by letting caspian use him for the cure and caspian obviously killed holstrom.
>ending makes me obsess for weeks over the idea of simulations and reality >how do I know this life isn’t just some simulation? Driving me mad >finally snap and realize it doesn’t really matter at all
This show was pure kino 10/10
That was actually the point of the ending.
Nobody in any of the simulations was any less real than anybody in the prime reality, knowing doesn't change anything so there is no point stressing about it, if UI are equivalent to their originals then UI within simulations are equivalent to their originals as well so Maddie wasn't merely coping with simulation Caspian, simulation Caspian IS Caspian in every sense.
so could any human do what maddie did? i don't think safesurf killed every human but maddie. do we have any reason to believe other UIs aren't touring the glaxaxy looking for the biggest stars with the most metal-dense solar systems to run their own private realities?
>simulation Caspian IS Caspian in every sense.
I'm not so sure, maddie is still working off of her imperfect human memories. we know she wasn't able to figure out how caspian told her she was going to bring him back so she was never able to retroactivly read his mind and confirm that every little detail matched. we only know that her caspian matches her memories of caspian. he is A caspian, a real person, but possibly still a distinct entity. kind of funny that maddie ended up doing the exact same thing pope and his crew were trying to do to caspian, but way better.
We can not physically travel to other galaxies because they move away faster than the speed of light, but if we turn our galaxy into a Dyson swarm we could simulate what happens there.

I was promised shipping as the reason to watch this. It ain't happening.
It's like when I was promised shipping as the reason to watch Infinity Train.
I was lied to.
>It's like when I was promised shipping as the reason to watch Infinity Train.
are you serio- >I'm 5 episodes into season 2.
oh alright then, just hang in there a little longer >Also when I say "shipping", I mean Star Vs.
oh... like in love triangles and stuff then? I don't think there is anything like that on the train but with Pantheon I will only say that it reminded me of a Brazilian soap opera about two sisters in which one of them fell into a coma and the other stole her marriage.
Also we follow that with a scene excuse-making for a character's inaction in the story. If you didn't know what to do with them you shouldn't have introduced them at all. Friggin serial shonen problems in a serious cartoon for adults
The yellow CI is not Mist, but the merge of the israeli guy and the Iranian. Mist only showed up after it was over to steal Caspian at the last moment.
I feel like this show was made/produced by techbros who don't understand the giant molten holes in the earth that huge brain servers like this would create.
That's what David was for, even though they were stuck on the decay issue they still had him and his backups running through centuries of tech development since he was an engineer building the servers of the future.
How so? If you emulate neurons instead of simulating them, you'd save a lot of calculating power. Let's say you need 1 kb to describe one neuron. The brain has 86 billion of them. That's 86 terabyte to describe your brain. 43 memory cards.
There are a handful of buzzwords and references to actual computer science topics meant to catch the attention of high schoolers and college kids studying comp sci, but it has almost no relevance to actual computer science. In every scene where they drop a reference to an actual computer science or IT that I can think of, it's barely even relevant to the scene.
The show very quickly devolves into the realm of "computers = magic" and "The Internet = Spirit Realm". It's still fun to watch, but this is absolutely not hard sci-fi.
yeah, in the original stories, the coding was much cooler. in the source material, david destroyed chanda using a fork bomb
also this quote feels relevant to the show >Unlike movies, there wasn't going tobe some fancy graphical gauge showing her what was happening in the ether
I got annoyed/bored with the show for some reason during the S1 finale, read the synopses for S2, and dropped it.
I can no longer remember why I was irritated and I've forgotten most of the summary, so it might be time to pick it up again soon.
There's a lot of technical nonsense that I had to get through. The UIs have abilities that they really shouldn't have and are afraid of things that shouldn't be a threat to them. The ending made up for it many fold.
It was okay. The start was a lot stronger than the part of the show that happened after they revived Steve Jobs. Felt like they really rushed towards an ending instead of exploring some of the more interesting stuff they could've.
>Pakistan shitting the bed and causing a nuclear war is canon
It was an indian making things up just like in real life

I loved it. I was putting off watching season 2 because I was afraid of it not being as good as season 1, but it was great.
I like how Stephen Holstrom was so much worst them that they become a good guy in season 2.
Is this based on a book?
On some short stories, and also in general.
What in general?
Nta, but of the book in general. It’s a short story anthology. Only a series made of three of the stories in the collection are more directly adapted by the tv show, but the show otherwise borrows concepts and ideas that are sort of sprinkled in the whole book.

Maddie a cute She's a shitty god though, we have to leave in a shitty timeline
This is bigger than you or me, this is about Caspian's dick
Based
Canonical unprotected sex with Maddie!
stop reminding me about the lack of r34 or smut fanfictions....
Damn Caspian nutted hard
Not to mention underaged too, this show was outrageous how they got away with that.
They got away with 13 Reasons Why, it's obvious Netflix has no standards.
Possibly why they removed the show from most platforms. Even Season 1 can be hard to find
Lol why do people use methods that aren't piracy, do they enjoy losing money that should be going to rent?
to support the crew behind the show. then again even they condone pirating the show
Not like any of that money ever goes to the crew.
yeah, best thing you can do is to just buy the book the show is based on
I borrowed mine from my local library.
Guilt tripped into how piracy doesn't support the creators, and how those guilt trippers think they work hard and proud of it.
hapa teen pussy made that guy shoot his mortal soul out of his wiener
our self is body, mind and soul, since only the second was going to be left, I guess the first and third can be put to good use one last time.
Reminder that Dave is forming during this scene.
Maddie's pubic hair status?
Absent in season 1. Present in season 2. Like her boobs, and hips.
>absent in season 1

Any WEBM of this scene?
her hiding her boobs is very unrealistic please re-animate the shot
>acquires the seed of Caspian in your path
We are her tools, anon. We have to be the change she needs us to be.
yeah i like it too
Middle seemed rushed, but I still really liked season 2
I found the latter end of season 2 used myself, they needed a third season to let things breathe a bit and wrap things up properly.
Maddie is superior but Laurie is best girl.
It was all rushed, but given the circumstances I won't blame them
Given the choice I'd take compressed over stretched out. Way too many shows go bloated and off the rails because the writers have certainty that they'll be renewed.
I'd normally agree but it was clear that the tail end of the season needed at least a little bit more time even if it was just another episode of two.
I guess Josephine died off screen if caspian is the last original UI
>David browsed /x/
What did Maddie and Caspian briwse?
pretty sure we see Maddie browsing /x/
Caspian browsed Cinemaphile most likely. And also Cinemaphile since he reads comics.
sex with myst!
You mean "MIST" not "Myst" unless you're fricking a D'ni
>Maddie creates entire worlds like a scholar writing linking books
there might be something there
I literally can't watch it
Where’s that anon that bootlegs Cinemaphile movies and then donates them to goodwill? This show needs him to johnny appleseed a few copies.
I'll never forgive AMC for how they treated Pantheon. This show could've been HUGE if given an actual platform
It was probably greenlit during the beginning of the pandemic where streamers were ordering large amounts of animated projects to keep producing content, then losing interest once restrictions were over and they could produce live action again.
is the dialogue audio still really shit in the first season? i know they got fricked over because of covid so everyone was recording on laptop mics and shit, but i couldn't ignore it and stopped watching halfway through the first episode
yeah. it has to do with the actors recording from home during the pandemic
It's shit
MIST needs more love
>that boob window
Hhhhhhhhh
I love her voice
She has David now, anon. She'll teach her nephew the "merge thing" on her private server.
Pantheon was too good for Cinemaphile
Of course Cinemaphile would rather talk about hailey's on it
I think it’s less about quality and more about how easily accessible/ (and well advertised) a show is. If a show is a streaming service exclusive that isn’t something like Hulu or Netflix, that can hamper popularity a whole lot. Many people won’t even know the show exists.
Hey that could be saltwater and/or give me diarrhea for all I know.
I enjoyed it. It's probably the best Cinemaphile material to come out in quite awhile.
I watched the first episode. Is this just that shitty Johnny Depp movie from 2014 or so?
I'll probably keep watching, but there better be shipping in this.
one of the main themes in the show is love, don't you worry about that
Does the voice acting ever improve? And I don't just mean audio quality.
Okay it's clear from how dead this thread is that nobody watched this show. So once again I'm watching a show that's a dead end discussion-wise.
you're just fricking late and everything has already been discussed

how about shakespeare's work? it seems like there is more new discussion even when it's hundreds of years old
never heard of it, what's it about
that's your fault
It’s about:
>What if upload brain into computer?
>it's your fault that all people want to talk about is how shit every show is and they refuse to talk about things that aren't porn
Unlike those there is basically no fanart and its underecognised as a series.

NTA but does anyone else think that Ping's ideas are inspired by concept of "fa" in Chinese philosophy?
I have no idea what that is, I thought he was being a pure communist.
ping talked about how once the whole world is free of material wealth there will only be "justice", so I wonder if this is a reference to "fa"
Explain fa to me like I am a child.

Why is there a sakuga scene in a western show?

Right up to the point she married the guy she initially held responsible for lying about David's death and uploading.
>Eighty years, by human cycles.
I want to have mind-bending digital sex with Ellen for a length of time incomprehensible to mortal human consciousness.
Stalked by the clingy singularity. Probably lucky it's not immediately resorting to murder.
LOL at how they need to engineer a broken home to create their ideal supergenius.
Could swear he said "Pajeet". Now that would be getting away with shit.
I'm pretty sure they meant "Ajit"
Lame
I think it looks like Cyber Six.
in that it looks good but I'll probably never bother watching it
>veganal bones

young renee was definitely hot, i'll give her that

Caspian shouldve fricked her into submission and she'll switch sides.

Nice try Stephen, your programming is flawed.
the governments created safesurf though
Got a bit too crazy in the second season. MIST a cute tho.
Oh come on, nobody would buy that shirt as a present knowing how tasteless a joke it was.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA
Serves you right
It wasn't good.
>playing Styx music
That's a tonal whiplash
I have no idea was AMC+ even is so I am incapable of having an opinion on it.
This series kinda remind me the game, Soma. Even tho Soma did it a lot darker.
the show never addressed the fact that a UI transfer is just a copy with the original being deleted, like the whole "star trek transporter kills you" debate
It did address it.
And Star Trek teleporters don't kill you, they just move your matter. The idea they kill you came from morons that didn't watch Star Trek.

yup. in the first episode, chanda talked about how the UIs would serve humans as an early retirement program, only for himself to become a UI servant
It was just to show that he was jumpy and (correctly) assumed that Prasad would murder him if he considered going to another company.
Cute
post her mom
you guys notice that both caspian and maddie play pretty direct roles in deaths of their fathers? maddie by letting caspian use him for the cure and caspian obviously killed holstrom.

I'm still thinking about it.
We can not physically travel to other galaxies because they move away faster than the speed of light, but if we turn our galaxy into a Dyson swarm we could simulate what happens there.
We can travel the whole universe, as gods.

Finished season 1. This show is weird.
Well, on to season 2
It was fine - interesting enough to watch to the end, but hard to give much of a shit about the characters
Started season 2.
Hi ProZD cameo
I really liked S1, then started watching S2 but then got bored 4 episodes in.
Maybe I should get back into it.
if you feel bored when you get halfway into the season may as well not watch the show altogether, unless you're into those shroom-lsd-like endings
🙂
cutie.
I want to kiss Ellen on the lips! ^v^
this show will now be defined by underage sex for years to come
Great show, easy 8/10. Better than every other show in the last, like, what, five years? Ten?

It's like when I was promised shipping as the reason to watch Infinity Train.
I was lied to.
Did you reach season 2?
I'm 5 episodes into season 2.
Also when I say "shipping", I mean Star Vs.
We don't have that. We only have good, christian, one Asian woman, one israeli man sex for the sole purpose of procreation. Also a crazy aunt.
Then where is my Star Vs-style shipping?
You'll have to keep searching.
>It's like when I was promised shipping as the reason to watch Infinity Train.
are you serio-
>I'm 5 episodes into season 2.
oh alright then, just hang in there a little longer
>Also when I say "shipping", I mean Star Vs.
oh... like in love triangles and stuff then? I don't think there is anything like that on the train but with Pantheon I will only say that it reminded me of a Brazilian soap opera about two sisters in which one of them fell into a coma and the other stole her marriage.
Oh great it's forced drama time. Instead of reason with the stupid AI Maddie instead turns her character backwards again.
>Instead of reason with the stupid AI Maddie instead turns her character backwards again.
Wut?
Also we follow that with a scene excuse-making for a character's inaction in the story. If you didn't know what to do with them you shouldn't have introduced them at all. Friggin serial shonen problems in a serious cartoon for adults
Children fricking
On Netflix
You were meant, Teens fricking on Netflix
He's an adult and the show's on Amazon Prime.
I'm quoting YMS's 13 Reasons Why videos.
I wouldn't take moral lectures from YMS.
So what was the point of any of that Mist drama in episode 6 if she's gonna save the day anyways
Yeah yeah he's a dogfricker. I still enjoy his commentary tracks mocking shitty shows/movies
The yellow CI is not Mist, but the merge of the israeli guy and the Iranian. Mist only showed up after it was over to steal Caspian at the last moment.
She's a conniving b***h. I love her.
I really love her voice
smug
>Mist uploads it to pornhub
She wanted to see what a romantic dinner was like, makes sense that she would be more than interested in this.
And suddenly it's a totally different show
Now we're talking
I feel like this show was made/produced by techbros who don't understand the giant molten holes in the earth that huge brain servers like this would create.
That's what David was for, even though they were stuck on the decay issue they still had him and his backups running through centuries of tech development since he was an engineer building the servers of the future.
How so? If you emulate neurons instead of simulating them, you'd save a lot of calculating power. Let's say you need 1 kb to describe one neuron. The brain has 86 billion of them. That's 86 terabyte to describe your brain. 43 memory cards.
This show is high off its own supply. Was this actually made by techbros?
There are a handful of buzzwords and references to actual computer science topics meant to catch the attention of high schoolers and college kids studying comp sci, but it has almost no relevance to actual computer science. In every scene where they drop a reference to an actual computer science or IT that I can think of, it's barely even relevant to the scene.
The show very quickly devolves into the realm of "computers = magic" and "The Internet = Spirit Realm". It's still fun to watch, but this is absolutely not hard sci-fi.
Thanks for your input. I wish this show were more popular so we could hear more takes from people familiar with computer science mumbo jumbo.
cody-laurie backup-chanda love triangle never
Anyway I fancast Ryan Gosling as Cody
yeah, in the original stories, the coding was much cooler. in the source material, david destroyed chanda using a fork bomb
also this quote feels relevant to the show
>Unlike movies, there wasn't going tobe some fancy graphical gauge showing her what was happening in the ether
my bad, it was maddie destroying chanda using a fork bomb. haven't read the stories in a while
>bitcoin wallet
Finished.
There were some neat parts, but holy shit does it go full moron by the end.
Best part of the show
Yeah no, only Olaf Stapledon and Tatsuki Fujimoto are writers who've earned endings that existential.
Now can you please give me recs for shows like Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil?
Have you seen Wakfu?
Watched two seasons. There's no triangles, just one main pairing and a couple episodes that threaten it only to not matter in the end.
When does it stop being boring?
episode 6 of each season
When your goldfish brain finishes developing.
Gimme a QRD. General premise, positives and negatives, whatever.
I been busy and had no time for cartoons lately.
Watch something else.
How come?
Why is there so little art of her?
because she looks bland. being a lain lookalike doesn't help
Her grown up version was solid 8/10
She's hapa Vanessa Doofenshmirtz
And that's a good thing.
>Caspian didn't get the cute teen gf experience
It's not fair Bros
he seemed pretty confident when he was with the college girl decoy, he probably dated before that
