Isn't every movie basically about muh racism and muh dominant group bad? I would have thought for sure they'd leap at the chance to include some interracial romance good allegory.
A movie that takes place after Humans and Apes are living together peacefully. Technology has returned to 21st century levels, if not slightly better. The new ethical dilemma is the possibility of genetically engineering other animals to have high levels of intelligence. A rogue Ape scientist has supposedly already done this with canines. The film is a political thriller that takes place in a cityscape following a human and ape detective team. There is also the discussion of research into human-ape hybrids which is currently outlawed by most countries.
Towards the end of the film it is heavily implied that other animals are rapidly getting smarter at a rapid pace *without* any genetic intervention as a quirk of evolution that nobody, no Human or Ape, had expected.

The apenauts land in a planet ran by a primitive yet intelligent society of humans and apes are wild and feral. The last remaining cosmos escapes and find the statue of simian washed up on a beach.
