I think it's the crossroad of quality and lasting memorability. If it did something particularly special for its day, that helps.
anyway these are both classics. Gravity Falls thread? anyone? Bueller? no? maybe yes?

feel free to make it a gravity falls thread

Was Gravity Falls actually good? Everyone (and the most annoying types of people) telling me to watch it make me want to check it out less, but I'm bored.

yes, it is very good. i do think it needed one more season but at least i ended well enough

Yeah, it's good overall. Short too, only two seasons. It's not perfect, but very much worth watching.

it's a cartoon. if you like cartoons you'll probably like it. don't expect it to change the way you see the world or anything. if you want to sit and enjoy a tv cartoon then it'll do the trick.

I think it's actually good. There's a little "that just happened" humor but it's sparse enough that it doesn't take away from the other jokes and actually cool stuff. It's also only 41 episodes, which you wouldn't think from how popular it is and the fact that it ran for 4 years.

there's nothing quite as powerful as hype aversion
but yeah it's good. Just sit down and think of it as a well-written comedy that had one of the Homestar guys writing a lot of it and voicing a lot of incidental characters. forget the rest. just sit and laugh at jokes about bad movies and weird products.

The fanbase is annoying but the show is genuinely decent. It's still for children so just know that it won't blow your mind but if I saw it as a young kid I would definitely remember it fondly.

Incredibly overrated but by no means bad.

you know what, that is fair
I will say though, while the mystery junk does nothing for me, the things that the people who like it have said about it, and the way things were carefully hinted... actually does sound really impressive. Had I been more into that part, or noticed any of it, I might rank it even higher.

the last one lasted a decently long time, just died overnight
the previous Wendy Wednesday got janhammer'd

Pinecest with a side of Wendy for both twins is the best thing to come out of this show.

hell yes. they work really well together and i'm glad people are still enjoying.

    Oh hey guys.

    https://files.catbox.moe/bn6yct.jpg

would appreciate a lil help, especially with panels 4 and 10.
and not sure what the ideal crazy eyes are at the end. big fish pupils? blank circles?

      >especially with panels 4 and 10.
      >4 - Mabel jumping on Dipper
Looks fine to me. Perhaps Mabel's panties are twisted a bit too far to her right? Perhaps I'm just not seeing the correct twist in her hips for the angle?
      >10 - Candy creeping on dipper
I'd go with big shiny stars (like Mable's eyes near the end) near the bottom/side of her glasses OR on the camera to really highlight her excitement.

For dippers eyes if you're going for crazy I don't know that expanded pupils are the best choice. Big pupils are are for excited things. tiny pupils for scared/surprised. Perhaps blank eyes would be best for the shock of his sister asking to see his dick.

Also maybe show Candy's knees in panel 10. She kinda looks like she's floating.

        ColdFusion智

hip twists and panties in general just baffle me. how can there be fabric on the sides, when the leg can lift above the waist?
        >10
actually i meant more Dipper's legs. They look okay? For Candy I was gonna go with the classic all white

Also maybe show Candy's knees in panel 10. She kinda looks like she's floating.

yeahh I had a knee there then erased it. I think I'll put it back.
        thank you anon!

          >i meant more Dipper's legs.
Looking at it again, it's a small detail, but Dippers left leg looks a bit long with the bent angle at the knee even with the heel lifted. The bend/difference from standing straight should only be the same distance as the ankle to the ball of the foot. __All that is assuming his toes are on the ground.__
If his foot is lifted off the ground just ignore this. I really don't think it's that big of a deal though, just something to keep in mind for the future.

            ColdFusion智

But if it's lifted off the ground (which i DO think I was intending) then the leg is REALLY too long.
i already shortened it once, I'll shorten it again. thank youuu
stupid threedee angles. stupid stereoblind brain.

Yeah, details like that are weird. I'm no artist so this is just my opinions so take it all with a grain of salt. I'm enjoying your GF comics though. Keep it up.

Not sure what you mean by help, unless you mean suggestions.
      >Panel 4
More exaggeration with Dipper recoiling in shock
      >Panel 10
Creep up Candy a bit more. Maybe make her smile a little to wide for her face, put some more shadow on her.

As for the end, I'd go with something like from EEnE, if that doesn't break your style.

        ColdFusion智

        >smile even wider
        that arranged can be..
        >shadow
that's the plan yeah. in fact might have to bust out the ol' white-outline thing to make her hair visible in the closet.
        >circles around pupils
oooh that's a good one, I like that. East and west both use it from time to time
and my style is already broken in half and its brain oozing out because I'm trying to draw in DoublePines' style and it's so different from mine. but it's teaching me all kinds of shit about eye and jaw angles.

      >and not sure what the ideal crazy eyes are at the end. big fish pupils? blank circles?
I personally like big pupils for "want" (Mabel) and small pupils for "fear" (Dipper). You can still add reflections, irises, and stars in big pupils. It's simple but I don't know what this will look like in color, and it's up to how exaggerated you want it. Try it out and see what you like.
Panel 4 - Hands up, feet tucked in reminds me of a cat or fox pouncing, which is good, but maybe if the back was arched the other way it would resemble that more? I don't know, that panel might just be fine the way it is.
Panel 10 - Not sure what you want to know. The left foot's ball is parallel with the ground, but clearly raised, it's a little weird. Looks like he's mid walk. Maybe it's just because it's a sketch. If you want to make Dipper's dance (that is Dipper, right?) more dynamic and girly (and therefore more embarrassing), you can make the hips less level, the toes point, and show some gentle curves on the butt. Pic is an example I can't draw feet, especially not with a mouse. Sue me.. A rigid leg and hips forward are what give you the sense of motion and where he's putting his weight.

        Extremely useful, thank you.
also your ass can totally draw feet, I'm stealing the hell out of that.

a good solid cute funny show. I've never felt any need to rewatch it, but I enjoyed every second of it and they even stuck the landing.
not to mention sneaking a bit past the censors even if they did get caught sometimes.

Genuinely it's age and of the thing itself stands the rest of time

Like no matter which generation I'm talking to, chances are they'd like over the garden wall

      >age
I mean that makes sense, that's why if something feels like a classic when it's not old yet, it's called an 'instant classic'
an epithet which can be handed out quite cheaply if you don't give a frick, and is thus not terribly reliable as a useful indicator of quality.. but nonetheless one i use often. Typically when I outwardly smile and call something an instant classic, inside I'm clutching nervously like "Don't cancel it, don't cancel it" or these days "don't ruin it with dumb modern shit, don't recast actors based on their race partway through"
