to the best of our knowledge, he is just a sociopath or a narcissist. Like a real one. Because he is constantly up his own ass and had zero issue hurting others.

With there being almost infinite ricks, there should be a rick with just about any mental disorder you can imagine.

in simpler terms, he's probably just evil, like evil kirk and spock from star trek

its actually probably a call back to season 1. Rick doesn't like pirates.

He's unmotivated every time we see him in the show. Main Rick's big, life-ruining tragedy was just one smarter Rick lashing out after being mildly insulted. Main Rick told him "it's cool that you extended a hand out to me, but I'm happy with my life here" but plot device Rick took it as "My life choices are better than yours" and cut him for it.

Rick Prime also hated his own Wife. I can't remember if he killed her first, killed her later or killed her when deleted all the diane's with the omega device

If he killed his Diane, who raised his Beth?

who knows how old Beth was when she disappeared. The marriage was bad though. Beth makes comments about him being distant I think even when he was around.

I don't know if the writers are smart enough to do this, but our Morty is probably the only person that could save Rick's wife.

Rick refuses to do time travel, even to save his wife because he thinks it is cheap. I suspect that is a lie. He probably doesn't do it because if his does save his wife, he won't invent the portal gun or the technology necessary to invent time travel, creating a paradox. Morty prime on the other hand would exist regardless of what happens to Rick C 137 because his grandfather, rick prime, developed the portal gun already and had also already had his mother, Beth.

Morty Prime could go back to the past and shoot Rick Prime before he can kill C137 Diane, essentially saving millions of lives that would no longer be destroyed by Ricks seeking vengeance. If Morty shoots him early enough, he also wouldn't give portal technology to any other ricks.

This could also give Dan the bitter sweet endings he likes as Rick C137 would forget everything, never invent the portal gun and have a normal life and Morty Prime would be returned to his dimension and things would be like Rick never came back. There wouldn't be a time a parodox becuase Rick Prime is already dead. There is no one to try to go back and stop him. None of the other ricks would go back to stop him because they all love their diane. And the tiem cops might turn a blind eye to it because it would undo all the damage Rick has done to the timeline.

The mechanics to do this have been set since episode one. The time travel box has sat on that shelf in every single episode since episode one.

It would also let Dan retcon the whole show, which seems to be something he enjoys doing.

I hated it when another show did this but I admit it would work for Rick and Morty. I doubt they'll bother to even write an ending at all though.

I've tricked myself into thinking the Beth clone thing is slightly less dumb than it actually is.
    >Beth wants Rick to decide what kind of life she leads; she asks him if he wants her in his life or not
    >he's been forced to answer a similar question before and it blew up in his face (lel)
    >he panics and makes a non-decision
Evidence suggesting that season 4 writers were already thinking of retconning the season 3 premiere backstory fake out:
    >S4E02: Rick has a change of heart about killing Tony the toilet-trespassing alien when Rick finds out he's a widower and instead tries to bond with him in the only way Rick comfortably can; they pointedly do a close up of Rick wincing when he hears about Tony's dead wife
    >S4E10: Beth has a childhood memory of being held by her mother, who has the exact same design as Diane from S3E01

He's evil, but by going back in time and fighting himself he has altered the course of his future. Still a self hating butthole, but one that has accepted his miserable existence.
