What is every anime ever. >b-b-but it has SEX and VIOLENCE
Doesn't mean shit when it's portrayed so immaturely that the only neurotypical people who would unironically enjoy it are teenagers.
Not from a show or movie, but the Kirby fanbase is probably the best example i can give. I was super into the lore when I was in middle school and I went on about how deep and dark it got, but within a year or two, I grew out of this phase.
I feel like the reason people push this narrative of Kirby being super dark is because they’re insecure about enjoying something traditionally seen as childish and they want to justify their enjoyment to others by making it seem like there is strong underlying adult element to it.
None of this is to say that there aren’t darker elements to Kirby or anything else in this thread, but I often see fans trying to overcompensate for being seen as kiddy and I don’t think that’s a good way to advocate for something since it can be misleading.

Or they just think the lore is cool. Not everyone has ulterior motivations for expressing their excitement over things. >I don’t think that’s a good way to advocate for something since it can be misleading.
If some idiots see Kirby fans soi-facing over the newest final boss being a primordial beast rumored to be the harbinger of multiversal extinction should it wake up, all of which isn't fanfiction but literal canon as shown in the pause description, only to find the final boss underwhelming for being a spookier and bigger version of the Ice Dragon when they were expecting a more eldritch version of the Gaping Dragon from Dark Souls then that's their problem.
Trick question
This can apply to any fandom basically. It's not like if I said Family guy, Hellboy, Fifa, DBZ or Top gear fans I would be wrong. That's because this image was made to make fun of fandom as a concept. The child is a casual fan, who displays the correct amount of enjoyment. Patrick and SpongeBob are hardcore fans, who show too much enthusiasm.
Want to prove me wrong, name a fandom that this doesn't apply to.
