one time i couldn't fall asleep and it was like 3 am so i decided to watch Barry Lyndon to make me sleep
i had tried watching it a bunch of times but never finished cuz it seemed boring and uninterested
holy shit i stayed up until 6 just watching the movie, i got sucked into the story and it's so amazing
i mean the animal shit in the beginning is boring, but everything after is space kino
the music and visual combination, then the eerie story about discovering the monolith, then the AI going crazy
very ahead of its time actually
but i just love aborbing that movie
the only boring parts are the animals in the beginning, and the weirdo 60s space color shit at the end when he goes through the wormhole, both scenes are boring and drawn out
Every "classic" movie. Anything pre-1969. >muh camera work
I don't care. The sound quality or just the music that was popular then sounds like nails on a chalkboard and everyone looks 50-60 years old, including men and women supposed to be playing "young" people. Old movies are SHIT
All of the popular ones like casablanca, gone with the wind, the wizard of oz, Psycho, king kong, snow white are still good because they were popular for a reason.
it's really fun watching peter o'toole act in that movie, and it's got a very interesting story
Titanic
Came here to post this. Absolute fricking snoozefest of a movie.
the first half sure, but once they hit the iceberg it's such fun to watch
in fact the first half almost makes you forget that the ship is doomed so it's kinda cool when you're reminded of it
also the way it transitioned into present time at key moments was really fun and added to the story
almost all the actors were really fun to watch too
Sloppenheimer
israelitenheimer was pretty good if you didn't know the story, despite how much it pandered to him he really was a two faced israelite
i enjoyed it, but i never want to watch it again now that i know the story
there wasn't technically impressive about it either

Legit the most boring film I've ever seen. I've had an easier time sitting through Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's New York Minute than this piece of shit. Yes, it's a technical marvel. Yes, it is an impressive cultural touchstone. I don't care. It's a power point presentation of a history lesson pretending to be a movie.

Boring is the most moronic argument out there and most of the time depends on person's attention span and lack of willingness to immerse themselves and think.
It's fine for people who don't try to pretend to be interested in art, but it's annoying when people go "I care about cinema as an artform" but still resort to such a surface level argument to explain a dislike for a film. And either they don't even explain why they found something boring or it's "i couldn't personally relate to it" or "it was slow". You're not interested in art if you treat it as an accessory to your own personality and nothing else.

2001 is impressive in every way
This nobody likes this movie but they pretend too because kubrick’s name is attached to it. Replace his name with someone else and nobody would care
2001 is Kubrick's best movie. It's one of the main reasons his name is worth anything in the first place you pleb

The only correct answer is 2001: A Space Odyssey, and all other answers are lies.

The most recent example that comes to mind is Killers of the Flower Moon. It's Scorsese so technically it's good, but it's boring as frick.
