I could never tell if Gogo wanted to frick Andy or saw him as a surrogate son, or Andy wanted to frick Gogo or saw her as a really good friend. Damn shame Vanheist never capitalized on it and put out some Patreon-exclusive comics that have him walking in on her showing or something.

And everyone told him what they wanted. A website and a more consistent update schedule. The website was never really a thing and then he rebooted it. He took the feedback and did the opposite. And that killed any momentum he had so he just stopped.
The website coordinator got stuck on what CMS to use and dropped the ball. Right now there are maybe three webcomic CMSes most of which are out of date or in various states of being ignored. The original SmackJeeves site had an amazing homebrew webcomic CMS, but the terms of SJ's sale to the Koreans likely included never releasing that site code.
VH and Levi did a beautiful job of wrapping up the original continuity and its payoff. However the reboot being a more complex action story at its core, it couldn't afford to sustain a decompressed slice-of-life pace much beyond the first ten pages; I think as it progressed VH realized this was more than he bargained for, he had to force himself to care about it and he wanted to go back to less plot-encumbered content where he could play to his strengths as an artist. Hyper isn't my thing personally, but he's good at it and his patrons will feed him until some other rising hyper artist displaces him.
The original Bomango was a good strip that had a good ending.

Honestly, I can't blame him. I got a compound fracture in my right arm as a teenager (car accident, though if anyone asks, it was jerking off 37 times in one day) and it took years of physio and training to even regain use in my hand. One of the tasks I had to do every day was draw simple shapes and images - square, circle, smiley face, etc. - and even that was hard to get to grips with. Having to do that as a professional artist must be one of the most frustrating, humiliating things I can imagine

It’s sad because Sleepy Cabin has become this time capsule of a bunch of people who are now either estranged or straight up don’t get along anymore. The Newgrounds/Early YouTube gang that formed a posse out of high school and college were literally just a bunch of kids acting as canaries in the internet’s coal mine, making all the mistakes that future “content creators” now mostly know to avoid. It’s easy to say in hindsight that guys like Chris and Zach should’ve known better than to trust someone like Shad, but thinking of it from the perspective that a bunch of young millennials who mistook genuine problems for edgy quirks makes it easier to forgive in my opinion.
