was looking at this small time actress from Seinfeld to see where I'd seen her, and she basically just has no credits for 20 years
what happens when this happens? like maybe in this case she became a mother or whatever but obviously it's not just women. And it's not like she became a writer or producer instead because there are just no literally no credits
What do you think is happening in cases like this? Surely it's not a case of being forced to switch career?
My brother in law was in a couple shows and movies but hasn't been in anything for almost 10 years. Now he's just a barista or something and gets recognized every now and then
so despite no lack of effort he just couldn't get any more work? brutal
I think it just wasn't for him. Sad how someone would kill for the opportunity he had
A-List, B-List, or what?
Voice acted as a kid then a couple live action roles in his late teens. Nothing big but some would recognize him
Disney/Nick star or something? You don't have to answer but I bet it's the case
No not that big. Just WB and a little HBO I think
No idea. I ask similar questions a lot and I'm a NEET.
I'm beginning to understand the incredulity and/or contempt most people have when you say you don't work. But that's hardly related to the topic. Still, no idea what those people do.
did you even read the fricking page that you posted?
she has one production credit per year for the screen actors guild tv special and that stopped for her in 2006
did you, frickhead?
go to a fan con. you might be surprised who is there selling photos and autographs
like sports, this industry produces lots of disposable careers
>like sports, this industry produces lots of disposable careers
come to think of it, i always thought sportsmen just became coaches and stuff, but I guess it's largely the same question
I went to university with an ex-footballer. He had a plumbing company (which I assume he set up with his football money)
I sucked and fricked the American Pickers but they never made me famous like they promised
Dane is that you again? You shouldn't have done Spiderman
I knew a guy (tangentially) that was in Big Brother and then did quite a bit of tv show hosting/appearances. It dried up after a few years and he went back to his old job in an insurance company
I have this same TV model, I regret buying it, should've got a TCL or Samsung
Morrissey has a poignant song about this:
video unavailable
It's showing up normally here. The song's name is "Little Man, What Now" and seems to be based on Morrissey's reminiscences. It's very concisely told and vivid
god he's so good
Many do theater or musicals. If they are not big roles in productions like cats it will ge unnoticed!
I wonder similar things, i see commercials, loke what happens to those actors? There are people in their 50s in those, did they chase acting all their lofe and this was the peak, some cereal commercial or a commercial for a cleaning product? Makes me wonder what they do in their day to day.
It depends on how much they made. If they made enough they can invest a good portion of the money and live off the dividends for the rest of their lives. If they didn't they could use what they made to start new careers. I've heard of actors becoming real estate agents, yoga instructors, tax professionals and becoming things like nurses and dental assistants
When momentary fame ends the bills still need to be paid. They become like everyone else or live off what they made
such a small percentage of them get that rich though. the median actor is like the other anon said: just doing cereal commercials in their fifties. Is it just a side gig and they have other stable income?
Most likely. They either have a stable job and just came in for a few hours to shoot and they're back to their normal life. Just look at what a lot of actors now do after their career. They start selling their own brands of booze. Life goes on and you do what you do
I'm pretty sure one of the Ghost Hunters guys has legit the only Wikipedia page that has his bio say "X is an American [tradesman/normal person job]"
Steve Blackman the WWF wrestler became a bail bondsman
i think about this all the time
not everyone makes it, southern CA is just littered with people who a small role or two, lifetime careers under the line, etc
A lot of actors come from rich families, so they never really needed to worry about having a career in the same way ordinary people do.
My favorite Mediterranean restaurant is ran by a guy that used to play dead bodies, criminals, and vaguely terrorist characters on shows like CSI and NCIS.
