For her? Lucky Number Slevin. Charming performance. Best films would be Payback, then Kill Bill I guess

I don't know about her best performance but the best thing she's been in is easily Kill Bill.

I watched the American Sherlock show for her. I don't remember a single fricking thing about the show, but she was gorgeous in it.

Elementary. I'm a huge Sherlock fan (the BBC cucumber version can frick off) and she did a good gender swap Watson. The series had good characters overall.

Elementary is easily superior to BBC Sherlock and mostly because Liu had good chemistry with the lead and their bants were top tier.

Elementary is easily superior by having cast Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock alone. He is so good in that role.

I'm still flabbergasted that it was a goddamn procedural crime show on CBS of all places that had the most mature and adult depiction of that character in the modern age. Makes the other modern versions look like teenagers acting out.

My favourite juxtaposition between Elementary and Sherlock is the way they use screens in their storytelling. In Elementary he has a wall of mismatched screens he's probably collected for cheap and they make total sense. He mostly uses them to scan through multiple surveillance photo videos at once but also use them when getting consultations from experts across the country when video-chatting might help. Completely in character and something Sherlock would do in the modern age.

Then you have the Sherlock episode where he uses like ten different laptops perched on chairs around him, where he's got one chat window open on each laptop and once he's done asking questions to that one person he closes the laptop dramatically and the visual of the person disappears. A completely moronic idea made up just to have the visual twist of a person disappearing in thin air and it being revealed that he's not interrogating the people in person.

Yeah. I saw Sherlock first and slept on the American show for ages, I still mostly like the first 2 seasons of Sherlock for what it intends to be, but in pretty much every comparison I can think of between the 2 shows, Elementary has a way more intelligent and appropriate handling or solution to how the stories functions and are resolved.
Elementary handles his intellectual gift and the burdens it holds way better, it handles how the character approaches relationships better, I don't think either ultimately did the character of Moriarty justice, but Elementary definitely did better with how Sherlock reacts to it. And Elementary definitely treats the side characters better.

Nah BBC was good until they fricked it in the later seasons. I didn't even finish the damn thing

The episode where Watson's wife (?) betrays them was unsalvageably cringe. I completely wrote it off after that.

The Hound of the Baskervilles was in season 2. At most it had three good episodes before they fricked it.

Elementary. It may be a procedural but the way she played Watson and how they had her be Sherlock's sober companion and actually made his addiction and recovery a lifelong struggle actually made it a worthwhile adaptation. I remember hearing about it when it was first announced and thinking they'd cast her so they could do a "will they end up together?!" plot that goes on for four seasons, so I was very pleasantly surprised when they made them strictly partners instead of in love like in Sherlock.

Man, I watched that every time it came on tv as a kid and I've rewatched it multiple times since and I always enjoy it, but I never remember shit about it and so had no clue she was in it. I guess it's time for another rewatch.
