I've seen people here criticizing the quality of the animation, but I thought it was pretty ok, wasn't nearly as terrible as i imagined. The designs and personality of the characters so far has been pretty good IMO.
But a lot can change further down the road. Who knows, the series might take a turn for the worse, but i've enjoyed the first two episodes. Probably the best Lois/Clark dynamic i've seen in a superman cartoon.

Eh, its more like most anime is done so cheap that the CG doesn't have the resources to look good. There are good example of CG use in anime, but they tend to be higher budget than most shows can invest in and the best examples of them you don't realize are CG unless you are specifically looking for it.
Of course, the best CG is still going to be found in movies rather than series, due to budget. But its not like that isn't true in the west as well.
the problem for talent in other countries is that any really good 3d animator will get a jobs in the US easily, so only the mediocre stay in their countries doing subcontracted work for Ubisoft or something, and video games is notorious cheap industry everywhere

I havnt enjoyed shipping since Shera, and since the lady who made Entrapdak, Josie Campbell is one of the writers, Im going in expecting Lois and Clark's romance to be really good. Not all anime is created equally; It's all aesthetics really. Most people only says anime is better because most of the times, the character designs LOOKS better than most of the stuff you'll find on channels Cartoon Network/Disney Channel.
Really, personally, I think the modern Scooby-Doo animated movies looks better than most animes nowadays but truly, a good story can carry a bad art style, not much can be said for the other way around and I seen some BAD anime.

You can like art, I like art, but when you say you "like a story for the art" that really means you like the Artists' work.
Artists can be changed throughout a comic's run. An artist can design how characters and back grounds look and make thigs pretty or ugly sure.
BUT
Writers are permanent; in a sense that what they write, especially in a comic, stays. Someone like Spider-Man can look different between issues, stylized one issue and realistic in the next, but those are all 'superfluous' to what Spider-Man DOES in those issues.
"The Night Gwen Stacy Died" wasn't substantial because of how Gil Kane penciled it or how David Hunt colored it. it was substantial because how Gerry Conway wrote it, how what he wrote became a permanent to Spider-Man stories/mythos.
Same with "One More Day", it's notorious because of how J. Michael Straczynski wrote it, not how Joe Quesada penciled it.

I hate how modern design threads are more about NOT achieving something rather than achieving something. The guiding principle isn't "we want the character to convey this characteristic and this visual etc" but rather "the character SHOULDN'T be corny or unrealistic or memorable etc". The resulting design is scraps left over after shaving down aspects, rather than something being built up from scratch.

Every character is completely rethought from first principles and shaped into anime tropes and/or action film cliches.

Also Clark struggling with his identity could go places between being a boyscout from Kansas, and an alien refugee, and the hero of Metropolis.

And he has saved Lois twice already and has never needed to be saved himself yet (unless you'd count Lois shutting down some of the robots in episode 1, but it was never established that he couldn't have gotten through it anyway. So it was more assistance than him being saved).
