It’s the penultimate episode they were just fricking around one last time before the end.

I don't think that's a good move, the other two season finales properly built up to their climaxes. Book 3 instead chooses to have gag episodes, they should've had the Roku backstory as the lead up to the invasion instead.

Probably or maybe show Ozai actually preparing, though I always laugh at the Chakra song.

The nightmare episode may have been slow and cliche, but at least it had Aang confronting an internal problem that had been plaguing him. The divide still rains supreme for bad Avatar episodes. It is completely vapid and pointless, it is a self contained mess that has zero lasting impact on the rest of the series. The only new thing we learn is that Aang is is fine with lying if it solves a problem. What a fricking pointless chore of an episode, easy skip

Great Divide is literally fine if you remove the bit about Aang making the whole thing up towards the end. It does actually serve an important purpose as it's the first time Aang has to solve a conflict diplomatically rather than through violence. The actual worst episode of the show is the Runaway

nah not even close. The runaway has some actual funny bits and character building for Sokka, Katara, and Toph. Not to mention Combustion Man finally gets named. Aang and Sokka getting so caught up in scamming despite the risks is a bit out of character and the whole "build tension by showing the ending without context" was weird and unnecessary, but ultimately I think its a fine episode.

All the character building in this episode is redundant at best and contradictory at worst. It's just a reissue of The Chase but with a lot less going on, there's no actual external conflict until the writers lazily staple Combustion Man on a third of the way in. Katara and Toph have regressed back to where they were a season ago, and Aang doesn't do shit to intervene. Not to mention this is the episode that started the whole mommy-shit with Katara which has poisoned all discussion about her for years. It might be the most out of character Katara's ever been written. And before you bring up the Desert, no Katara acts completely differently there then she does in Runaway. Not to mention she only took up the backbone in that episode because everyone else was down for the count.

    A bunch of KOTH episodes.
    >the episode where that old lady wants to die in Hank's house
    >when Bill blackpills Bobby and ruins his self-esteem
    >when Nancy's hair starts falling out and she seriously considers going back to cheating on Dale to fix it.
    >The Arlen Flooder
    >That episode where Hank cares more about his truck than Bobby
There's definitely more but those I always skip.

Felt like one of the educational MacGyver episodes with Hank in the truck

Oh that one. I don't think "cares less about his son than his truck" was the takeaway.

The powderpuff ep is one of the worst ones.

I don't remember that one beyond Bobby being confused why everyone in a conversative town and school like Arlen is so supportive of what's essentially a football drag show. What was the deal with it?

KOTH goes seriously downhill after Season 6. Season 7 was when Mike Judge reduced his involvement and they got a whole new cast of writers

I actually like this episode. There's something charming to me about addressing this specific type of stress and the reassurance that Aang gets from his friends.
