You know how Rick's wife and Beth were killed by Rick Prime? That Rick left his Earth to come to the Earth where Beth was still alive.
And from there, he left that Earth after it became Cronenberg'd

Oh yeah haven't they talked about that in the cartoon? I thought you were saying Rick (any Rick) wasn't actually Beth's dad.

She got knocked up and talked out of the abortion by her loser husband and had to give up her dream of being a doctor to become a vet instead. Her dad ran out on her when she was little.

So we all know why she is the way she is but the problem is she is just so boring and basic. Like she doesn't have love for anyone just this obligation to these people in her life but no love. Which could be interesting if she was a funny or interesting character.

There is nothing interesting or relatable or funny about her character. Like maybe if your boring and have daddy issues then maybe but they don't really show off her daddie issues it's more like just a plot device to keep rick in the picture.

And she has pretty much gotten over her daddy issues with the whole family not liking Rick anymore. I mean they have had moments about her daddy issues but not anymore.

Does she have any interests? Jarry has interests and a fun dynamic with anybody he is paired with. Summer can be fun too even though her character is pretty 2 dimensional as well. I miss it when Summer was emotionally intelligent instead of just being a clone of rick like everyone else in the family.

And ofcourse we all know Rick and Morty are good characters. So I guess Beth's biggest problem is that she is such a bore!

She always struck me as the architect of her own misery, but she blames everyone else. Every problem she has seems to stem from her poor judgment and ability to think clearly. She wants to act like she’s on the same level as Rick, but it’s made abundantly clear she isn’t and is just using him as a crutch. Like the reverse of a parent with a successful kid going “that’s my son I gave him that”. This isn’t even bringing up the whole space Beth thing which is the most asinine shit, like she goes to her dad and says I want to do what you did and has a clone made and her memory erased. But then it’s all Rick’s fault?

The space Beth thing is so stupid. Like he clones Beth but doesn't know which is which? It literally makes no sense. He should have just cloned Beth and the one on earth is the clone and is a lot more motherly. And the one in space is the real Beth going out and doing adventures by herself.

But now that I think about it. Making her a clone kind of ruins her character. Cause now she can't resent her family and all she has left is daddy issues and we all know she has gotten over those. So now she is just this boring ice queen who is sometimes effective and that's it. there is no character. Also, space Beth is even more boring. She just has a permanent scowl and does nothing but somehow be a badass warrior in the most boring way possible.

Her daddy issues. She’s smart and desires more from life, and her father represents (to her, not in reality) a freedom she was never afforded because she got pregnant at a young age. Jerry represents the polar opposite of Rick, the boring endless everyday, and while he’s a genuine and nice guy (most of the time) he doesn’t provide an outlet for that pent up desire for something more.

Summer reminds her of herself when she was at the pivotal age where her life took a turn and she was chained to normalcy. Morty has the love and attention from her father that she desperately wanted, but instead she was locked up in froopyland as a child, cast aside as a nuisance. Even when presented with the possibility of “everything she ever wanted” Rick’s solution is to send her far away from him (Space Beth). Which in turn doesn’t lead to the fulfilling life she thought she’d get. Because at the end of the day, the dragon she’s chasing isn’t adventure, it’s her father. So she drowns her troubles away with a workaholic lifestyle in the most intense position she can muster (horse surgery) and by consuming a lot of alcohol. She tries to make the family dynamic work, despite having the absolute worst upbringing you could think of.

    That’s her problem.

    She's Rick's daughter.
It's literally the premise of the show.
You wouldn't even know this song existed if it hadn't played when Rick was contemplating suicide.
