Shes in charge of the budgets.
She allowed multiple movies to cost 250+ million with ugly diverse casts that no one wanted to or will want to see.
She allowed multiple animated movies to cost 200+ million with ugly diverse character designs that no one wanted or will want to see.
While allowing multiple d+ shows to cost 150+ million with ugly diverse casts that no one wanted to or will want to see.

It's hilarious that the most woke diverse movie this year that's turning a profit is spider-verse, a film that cost 100 million and looks like it cost a billion in comparison to the Disney films.

They're gonna LOSE multiple billions over the next 2 years because of her lack of oversight on the budgets of these shows and films.

      Anonymous

Yeah, you don't have to be a big fan of Spider-Verse's story or premise to realize that it looks much better than multiple Disney movies that have come out recently, but cost a frickton less to make. I don't know what went wrong at Disney that their budgets just ballooned out of control.

tbqh no movie should cost more than 100~ million for the absolute maximum blockbuster. Most movies should cost like half of what they do.

I think it's funny women are never fit for the job but they somehow get hired anyway, while a man can be perfect but they'll keep it open anyway in case they find a woman that sucks.

Funnier still that women see no problem with being terrible at everything, and that simps will cry about incels when you point out this is literally killing society.

Feminism which is created and funded by israelites and supported by weak stupid beta loser simps are the ultimate ruin of modern civilization. And women are so stupid they don't understand they are being used as sacrificial lambs to benefit the rich israeli elite. By the time the whole shit house collapses I hope even the Common Man understands both about why israelites need to be killed completely and why women should NEVER be given rights to the point if any man jokes about giving women rights his joke ends with him being set on fire repeatedly until dead. Societies all over must learn to kill the simp that lies within. And also kill lots of women to put the fear into the female collective.

Disney's film and TV projects have been in the red Turning Red? haha! LOL for several years now, with only Frozen 2 and the most profitable Marvel projects bringing in any real dough. Disney's REAL income has been from its parks, which got mortally hit by covid and have been limping on life support since. Not surprised they're in full red alert damage control mode at this point.

Disney Owes 27 BILLION DOLLARS to Comcast by 2024 and they only have 200 MILLION liquid. There’s going to be a huge fricking shit storm in the stock market by the end of the year and they WILL have to sell Lucas Arts/Star Wars as well as Marvel. The backup code red plan is to sell to Apple but they don’t need to as selling those two off would keep them safe and free of criticism

I think it's about how they have the option to purchase Hulu in January 2024. It would be stupid not to given that it's actually profitable.

        >I heard about them only having 200 mill liquid (which is fricking shocking to me honestly) but I had never heard of how much they owe Comcast. Where can I read more about this?
Look up “Disney Hulu Comcast” on YouTube and you’ll see videos by the legalmindset, valliant, and clownfish which all talk about it. Basically they had a share on Hulu and after buying fox, it became the majority shareholder. Comcast owns the other half and the stipulation with 20th century was to buy the remaining shares from Comcast. Way back when, that Comcast cut of the shares was worth 9 billion. Now it’s evaluated at 27 billion at a complete evaluation of 70 billion that Hulu is worth for, as it got more popular. Disney is contractually obligated to buy the share from Comcast and there’s no way out of it. It went to arbitration and the arbitrator sided with Comcast that it’s worth more than 9 billion.

Disney HAS to pay for it. Selling shanghai would net them a bill back since they only own a share of the park with the Chinese gov. They would sell Paris Disney for 1-4B (5.5B if they’re lucky since that’s the full amount it was put in for).

You have Starwars/Lucasarts and Marvel left. There’s no running, you have to sell them

If this was a bigger deal I feel like it'd be WAY bigger than just one article and then outrage grifter shit like fricking Clownfish. I'm not sold that this isn't bullshit given this would absolutely annihilate Disney in the pretty close horizon.

What Disney really fears, specifically the ideological cabal within the board, is that if they do not come up with enough cash for the Hulu purchase, they will have to pay for it in stock. Because of how low the stock price is right now, they would be giving up a not-insignificant amount to Comcast. They, along with the Perlmutter/Peltz faction, will have enough combined power to reshape the board of directors, which is what may finally change the overall strategy at Disney.

That’s the thing, giving Comcast shares is not an option. It would make them the biggest shareholder in Disney and give them 4 fricking board seats; surpassing the likes of Berkshire, Blackrock, and Vanguard. Rule number one of business is to never let your competitor have stock in yours, and history has shown that doing so results in the competitor ruining your company or swallowing you up

This would be hilarious. But wouldn't that be a "comcast buys disney" deal?

        Anonymous

        >This would be hilarious. But wouldn't that be a "comcast buys disney" deal?
No. Buying would imply a majority ownership. Disney currently has a market cap of $170 billion.
Ike Perlmutter owns $3 billion of that. Peltz owns approximately $600 million. We don't know exactly how many shareholders sided with them, but Disney was successful in fending off the attempt to place Peltz on the board. If Comcast were to suddenly find itself with $20 billion in Disney shares, they won't come close to owning it, but they would have significant power to rally other shareholders and make huge changes.

I can only find one CNBC article about this (https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/16/comcast-will-likely-sell-hulu-stake-to-disney-in-early-2024.html). I'm not sold that this isn't bullshit given this would absolutely annihilate Disney in the pretty close horizon.

        >I'm not sold that this isn't bullshit
Annihilation is hyperbole. But this is not bullshit. It's not being reported on in MSM because it is still half a year away and many things can change during that time. Comcast might not even force the sale, for example.
As for the potential seriousness, you can't look at this in isolation, but the confluence of problems they're facing. Disney is looking at a year of big court cases, increasing competition in parks, the potential failure of every movie to turn a profit, delays that increase financing costs on loans, and new tax liabilities that will amount to hundreds of billions over the next decade if they do not prevail against Florida. Now add a $20+ billion bill that is due immediately on top of this. You'd have to be intentionally obtuse not to recognize this as a problem. Disney would essentially become a huge mansion that cannot afford maids, butlers, and general upkeep.
Granted, Disney is still too big to fail. But Disney and Disney leadership are not the same things.

Unless they created the company/IP in general women are objectively worse at running companies/divisions than men.
Look at the state of Amazon, Marvel, Lucas Film, and apparently this b***h, all were handed their jobs not earning them and they ran them into the ground, it wasn't their baby so they had no love for it, they have outright vitriol for the fanbases, and don't seem to actually know anything about what they've inherited.
Whereas someone like JK Rowling who created a simple book series nurtured it into one of the biggest franchises in the last 25 years, it was her baby (and unlike the other c**ts actually had real kids too to inspire her) she had an actual emotional investment in what she had and she made sure that when it was transitioned onto the big screen it was handled right, and even maintained a stern fist when it came to casting, hand picking several key actors like Hagrid, Snape, and McGonagall, and outright forbidding them from casting Americans in her movies.

Then a bunch of mentally ill cultists came and tried to cancel her cause she said the biological equivalent of 2+2=4

I've seen this happen from the inside. Basically, there's an opening for a manager of a team that, from the outside, looks lucrative and thriving, but is falling apart or about to be made obsolete by some company change. The good ol boys on the golf course all know about this, so when they get offered the management position they turn it down. The woman who gets offered wasn't in on the backroom discussions so she takes the job thinking it's a great gig. 6 months later it all blows up.

I love big suits because people somehow forget that they got there because they chased money ruthlessly above all else, and then they (and the suits) act shocked and surprised when the progressive suits sacrifice it all at the alter of capital
it’s like ESG capital, seems so progressive until you realize that all the “green” companies they’re investing in are green because they’re service oriented and have no positive or negative effect on the environment. Then they deny brown companies capital (because they don’t want to actually invest in slow return green initiatives for brown companies) making them more short term and survival oriented, which in turn makes them pollute even more because they need money NOW, but doesn’t kill them because brown companies like resource extraction and agriculture are vital
so it causes MORE pollution AND inflation
