Police Story 1 fricking sucks. Everyone only remembers the kickass action scenes, but those are like 10% of that movie. The rest is really shitty attempts at comedy.
Who Am I? is the perfect example for the formula Jackie used for every '90s movie he did.
>story doesn't make any sense and only serves to connect various setpieces >creative stunts and fights >signature Chan humor >foreign female lead with little acting experience >Jackie in his "role model" phase >has to scold the villain and say an inspiring message before drop kicking them
Fricking hell this one was good, doesn't get enough praise. Great duo scenes with sammo and that other guy who plays Jackie's rival >"WE. GOT. OUR. MAN."
Remember when you were old enough to recognize that almost all of his stunts in the movies were obviously different chinese dudes and the whole "he does his own stuff" meme was a lie? Even those reels where he does do the rare stunt and hurts himself, watch the final film and you'll see a stuntman doing it, and that was at his supposed peak. He also had nothing to do with the design and choreography of the stunts. He gave an incredibly talented stunt team a public face and occasionally took a soft bump and that's about it.
Gorgeous >good pacing >Jackie is acting and actually doing a good job >Comfy
All his ''classics'' have pacing problems but this period between the late 90s and early 2000s Jackie learned to act and the pacing is better than his films released between 1970 and the early 1990s.
>best overall
Armour of God >best stunts
Police Story >best individual fight scene
Wheels on Meals >best kung fu
Drunken Master 2 >best acting
Little Big Soldier
I liked rumble in the bronx
By the time he started doing rush hours and stuff they just made him out to be a tradtional action star I felt he loses all his charm
No, despite both of them working for Golden Harvest they never did a scene together. However, you can see her fight Sammo Hung in Millionaire's Express
Where do you guys watch Jackie’s movies without the horrible dubs? Do you need to get the blu rays? I tried watching Project A, I think, on Amazon and the dubbing was just awful.
what Amazon does is they often have two separate listings, one for the dub, another for the sub, and you have to find the right one. If under language you see chinese runes then you know it's subbed. Also, the subbed version you'll probably have to rent and spend money, it's only ever the dubbed versions that get on Prime, unless you have a Hi-Yah subscription
>Where do you guys watch Jackie’s movies without the horrible dubs?
On the internet. Tracking down movies with the original audio can be a pain in the ass.
>Who Am I
I watched it and thought it was weak. I liked the footage of 90s/00s europe (forgot when it was filmed) but the story made NO fricking sense and the action scenes were just ok by Jackie's standards
>Best fight scene
Wheels on FRICKING meals, final fight with Benny Urquidez. When he kicks near the candles so hard that they go out, so frickin sick
There are much better Jackie films both before and after it, fight me. It was weak. The final fight with those two dudes on the rooftop wasn't even that great, especially when you see behind the scenes stuff showing the other guys could hardly keep up with Jackie's instructions.
Jackie threads make me think about Tony Ja, and how much promise that guy had. Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong were so awesome, and just like Jackie I think he also had a dedicated stunt team which let him make those great scenes. But I think Tony's career fizzled out somehow, I guess martial arts movies just weren't as popular in the 10s like they were for Jackie in the 80s and 90s. Tony Ja is the only other martial arts stunt actor that showed any kind of jackie-like promise. He even had a sammo-hung type costar who always played the bumbling sidekick, although I don't think that guy knew martial arts like sammo
Tasmanian Square Massage 1989
Police Story - the original from 1985
This. I do really love Rumble in the Bronx though, and a bunch of his other movies.
based rumble chads
Then after came one of the best PS1 games. Jackie Chan Stunt master.(Still in NYC)
Police Story 1 fricking sucks. Everyone only remembers the kickass action scenes, but those are like 10% of that movie. The rest is really shitty attempts at comedy.
>kickass action scenes, but those are like 10% of that movie.
Why are you lying
No, he's right. I just watched it. The middle of the movie is lame.
Who am I
I prefer his south african stuff to his hong kong stuff
Who Am I? is the perfect example for the formula Jackie used for every '90s movie he did.

She cute
Certified.
You forgot gaijin villain/henchman with a blonde ponytail
Drunken Master 1978
It's actually the sequel. Those fights are insane.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
He's only 15 pounds less heavy than fightclub Pitt so jacky would undoubtedly kick his ass
Jacky? Isn't that Bruce Lee?
thunderbolt
The Accidental Spy
Rumble in the Bronx
I do like like how it goes from a pretty serious movie to driving a hovercraft over the villain that tears his pants off while everyone laughs at him
For me its My Lucky Stars.
Project A
Fricking A
Fricking hell this one was good, doesn't get enough praise. Great duo scenes with sammo and that other guy who plays Jackie's rival
>"WE. GOT. OUR. MAN."
Police Story 2
Mr nice guy
Police story 3 probably or City Hunter or crime story
Which Asian man is that? I can't tell them apart.
Jackie Chan when he was younger.
Whenever I hear police story I think of that dramatic movie where he loses his entire team, that was also heavily referenced in a videogame Red Steel.
Because that movie is also called Police Story. It was sort of a reboot.
Operation Condor (because cute Eva Cobo).
Condor 2 is fricking amazing
muh Black folk, best taste in this thread.
Yes! Also known as Armour of God II: Operation Condor.
i forgot was she naked in this one or was it the chinese chick.
If I have to pick one on gunppoint?
Then I choose the original Drunken Master.
'Dragons Forever' and 'Wheels on Meals'.
THIS THREAD IS moronic THE ANSWER IS SHANGHAI NOON
the best is yet to come
my vote goes to OG police story

Who cares? gossiping gay
this guy posts this in every jackie chan thread.
imagine the kind of loser that goes to such lengths to piss on jackie chan of all people.
>NOOO STOP POSTING THE TRUTH
haha yeah man, exposing the great jackie chan will for sure get you a Pulitzer XD
>Remember when you were old enough to recognize that almost all of his stunts in the movies were obviously different chinese dudes
No, because I'm not blind and moronic.
Yeah right gay. Next thing you're going to say is that in twin dragons it wasn't his actual twin in the movie
who am i... hits different
Rush hour
Gorgeous

Armour of God for me. The fight with the monks and 4 amazonian women is etched in the wrinkles of my brain forever.
>best overall
Armour of God
>best stunts
Police Story
>best individual fight scene
Wheels on Meals
>best kung fu
Drunken Master 2
>best acting
Little Big Soldier
Probably that one where he was a good guy who minded his own business and didn't want any trouble.
Or Drunken Master
Drunken Master 2
You have to specify which one that is.
Drunken Master 2
Wheels on Meals
I'm gonna say the shinjuku incident
Drunken Master 2, easy
Shanghai noon
China Won: 2000000 Fentanyl Deaths
I liked rumble in the bronx
By the time he started doing rush hours and stuff they just made him out to be a tradtional action star I felt he loses all his charm
meals on wheels
>1983-1995
Peak of his career.
Rush hour came out in 98
wheals on meals
drunken master 2
armour of god
operation condor
twin dragons
dragons forever
...
kinda hard to choose lol
even in movies that are less seen like gorgeous there are insane fights
holy shit 2:33 onward, the entire bat sequence is insane. truly the best to ever do it
The one were he's a police officer from china and there's a funny black character as his companion.
Has he done any movies with Cynthia Rothrock?
No, despite both of them working for Golden Harvest they never did a scene together. However, you can see her fight Sammo Hung in Millionaire's Express
Fist of Fury
Armour of God is the true kino
>post yfw u realize Jackie Chan will die in your lifetime
It all has to end someday, until it begins again.
Where do you guys watch Jackie’s movies without the horrible dubs? Do you need to get the blu rays? I tried watching Project A, I think, on Amazon and the dubbing was just awful.
You learn chinese and watch it as intended
what Amazon does is they often have two separate listings, one for the dub, another for the sub, and you have to find the right one. If under language you see chinese runes then you know it's subbed. Also, the subbed version you'll probably have to rent and spend money, it's only ever the dubbed versions that get on Prime, unless you have a Hi-Yah subscription
there was a massive torrent with all the Golden Harvest kino he did in dual audio and subs
>Where do you guys watch Jackie’s movies without the horrible dubs?
On the internet. Tracking down movies with the original audio can be a pain in the ass.
>Best overall fight
Drunken Master hot coals
Who am I rooftop

first drunken master
Yuen Woo Ping is a genius
If you like Drunken Master then both Magnificent Butcher and Drunken Tai Chi are must-sees
nta, but because of your recommendation, i will now watch that movie.
That's it, I'm rewatching some childhood Jackie Kino.
Help me decide between Who Am I and Thunderbolt because I'm a dumbass
