i started watching this show a while back, kinda surprised how genuinely good it was back in seasons 1-2, but also how quickly it went to shit
by the middle of season 3 every cutaway was already just a "this is worse than that time when-" scenario with no context or punch, and the jokes are starting to drag on
i started skipping cutaways and longwinded jokes after they hit approx 30 second and it makes most episodes significantly more enjoyable... its amazing, the amount of jokes that actually get a laugh out of me because they were genuinely funny, but when i was done the joke was still going on and on... the amount of family guy jokes that can be saved if they just cap them off earlier is astounding

i remember when the conway twitty cutaway gag was new and purposefully taking the piss out of this and it totally put me off from ever watching another new episode of family guy at the time. fortunately since the show has only gotten worse i haven't missed much.

It makes it very hsrd for me to appreciate elaboratly animated sequences that they sometimes do because of other lazy corner cuttings both from s5 and now.
They are very selective when they want Quagmire to be morally bankrupt. At first it was funny that the rapist could be so classy and clear headed from time to time but the cat shit is when I got really tired of his middle aged man antics. I get that hes 60 but it seems like thats affecting his personality

At this point, outside of a few traits (sexual deviant, hates Brian, loves cats) he's basically whatever the writers need him to be, like most of FG's cast now. Like in one episode he was stated to be in his 60s, but in others he's around the same age as Peter. I know FG has little to no continuity, but it's just weird.
