I don’t know. Great album though

You have to be extremely fricked in the head to enjoy it but yeah. I think it's the greatest thing ever recorded as far as unconventional music goes. At the very least the greatest deconstruction of an art form there is.

        There’s way weirder stuff honestly.

There might be, but nothing loops back to being as perfect as Trout Mask Replica does. It's not just weird for the sake of being weird, it is a meticulously crafted sick joke constructed with obsessive care. They managed to create sonance out of dissonance, that is an accomplishment in and of itself. Half of the album are actual riffs and melodies made up of musical lines which by all logic should not make sense, but they do. You can't even sing what the instruments are playing but somehow they made it sound cohesive. There is a reason why this album still filters some people 50 years after its release while others consider it a masterpiece and there is no in between. It was way ahead of its time.

Fricking moron. That shit is worshipped on Cinemaphile. Overrated as shit though. Ex Miliitary is their only good work.

True but it also makes a lot of filtered plebs seethe just like you now.

I have been seeing a lot more prog tock threads over there. At least you can still fight about your favorite Ming Crimson lineup or what have you over there

I think you missed my point. When the best you can hope for on a music board is discussing a 60's band, it really is over, and I never use that term. For the first time in history, old music outsells new music. Its fricking insane.

The Rolling Stones is technically "New Music" if they just released it this year and it's not archival.

The Rolling Stones are in their 80's dude.

Discussing king crimson is the peak of musical conversation.

Again, not my point. TOOL released an album in 2019, I popped in there and zero discussion, and you'd think they'd at least be shitting on it.
