I imagine it getting much worse, and eventually just becoming open homosexual porno since that is who is paying for it.

This, basically anyone will be able to make an animation series from scratch by themselves almost no money required, at that point we are set.

    Anime.
    The west have lost.
Too much politics and catering to a multitude of identities to tell any sort of story.
Also treated as a medium rather than an entire genre unlike in the west.

Depends on how far out you want to look.
Eventually, animation will enter the domain of folk art or even "fine" art, in that rich people will pay for singular work.
In the more immediate term, cartoons need to be funded by businesses that generate actual profit. It used to be toys, now it's going to be video games. Did you know the top Netflix cartoon of the past 6 months was Sonic Prime?
This is not to say that animation cannot be profitable by itself, or that there aren't successful alternatives to Hollywood. But those who can be successful outside it will have moved on, and the ones remaining in Hollywood, when left to their own devices, tend to produce things no one wants to watch because they inject their own offputting obsessions and demented world views.

2024 will be the last year of the industry as we know it. cost of living stress plus the 2024 election will absolutely decimate the average production artist mentality. productions will be failing left and right putting more stress managers and studios. just be glad you aren't holding the bag or investing your whole life into it
