Convergent evolution. The AK is just such a superior weapons design that pretty much every civilization which invents firearms will invent something identical to the AK-47.
also where did all the black/latino/asian people go, the prequels happened with like 2 black people and a few asians, then there's an explosion post prequels, then they disappear for the original trilogy, then they reappear after the original trilogy
In all fairness all of Star Wars' blasters were based on real WWII era firearms, and it looks like they're going for a guerilla aesthetic here so the Kalashnikov is an apt weapon to use, but they didn't really dress it up at all.
Still, I'll take it over them spraypainting some convoluted hunk of PVC pipes and Nerf blasters because the writers think real guns are too problematic to show on screen.
That's not an AK-47, but it should be. Having a weapon that does not immediately give away your position by firing a big gay laser beam is a massive tactical advantage in a guerilla combat scenario
Lack of creativity and imagination.

There are lots of AK inspired designs that are more or less the same functionally but they still look drastically different
No excuses
Galil master race

That other guy has a hi-point in his belt.
The prop department literally went out and bought the cheapest guns they could find
>ak

Those days are long gone my friend
Have you ever heard the legend of Darth Kalashnikov?
He was a good friend.
why does it look like they're in a sphere?
that's not ak-47
what the frick
What the frick is an Andor?
Another forest moon, obviously
um ACTUALLY the original weapons were all kitbashed from real life guns so of course the ak47 could exist there!!
Kitbashed is key word
That’s just a normal AK with no stock
they're the star wars version of somalian pirates
black guy stole form our universe
also where did all the black/latino/asian people go, the prequels happened with like 2 black people and a few asians, then there's an explosion post prequels, then they disappear for the original trilogy, then they reappear after the original trilogy
where the frick did they go?
Based Sheev concentrated them all into camps so they couldn't infect society
is that seriously just an ak47
Im gonna play Jedi Knight and remember the good old EU days

i don't know why they didn't just stick with the props they already had
Too triggering
Aesthetic != direct copy
As
pointed out you already had rebel AK blasters that we’re distinct enough to fit in but still had the guerrilla aesthetic
Yidsney corporate church patrons have arrived.
Can't wait to see the good people at wookieepedia weighing in on this.
What? Real weapons appearing in star wars? that's never happened before!
Remove/replace the handguard, shave down the front post, screw something laser-y looking on the front post, remove the magazine, add a chunky scope
Voila, it's now a blaster

it would be, if you weren't going against armored troopers
there's a reason they use the gay lasers
