Maybe the second part of Barry Lyndon is depressing and a downer, but the first part is greatly paced and even fun. I liked the whole thing personally, and I went in this expecting a very boring period costume drama.

I want to challenge my attention span and watch a boring, long movie without pausing. What should I watch?
try Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles
For me, the most boring movie ever was Ad Astra. I thought Oppenheimer was pretty boring too but that might be recency bias and shit second half of the movie. What probably influenced my perception of both is that I watched them in cinema, straight after work. A movie that many people find boring (though imo it was pretty good) is S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
>Sleepy Hollow (1999) >The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
Not necessarily longest but these films almost made me quit halfway through for being so boring.
Here are some of my favorite movies in boring genre: >Alice in the Cities (German Paper Moon essentially) >Megane 2007 (Naoko Ogigami had to give a warning that if you feel like sleeping during watching the movie that was intentional) >Frantz 2016 >Kochira Amiko >Kabei: Our Mother >Tokyo Trash Woman
Barry Lyndon
Lawrence of Arabia

2001 a space odyssey can get boring because of the long drawn out music scenes. Still good if you ask me
