Alien 3 theatrical cut is borderline unwatchable, it's amazing how people who laude it demand you watch some peepee poopoo cut in order for it to be passable.
Depends on your definition of Alien
If it's the original four then Resurrection, easily. If you count the later crap then definitely Covenant is the fricking worst, even worse than Shitmetheus. I'd include a caveat about the AVP films but Covenant and Prometheus are both worse than AVP and even AVP-R somehow.
Aliens really fricked things up, took alien from being scary to cannon fodder, 3 brought it back luckily enough. >Aliens is still a fun movie, just crap at atmosphere captured in Alien
>Anti-Aliens sentiment is pure contrarianism and moronic pseud drivel or bait.
Absolutely. Jim Cameron didn't make a better or worse Alien. He made a different movie. One that excels at its own genre, instead of being that atmospheric, dark and eerie, emotionally draining, gut wrenching, aesthetically heavy craft by post-horror auteur with an arthouse edge, dread-inducing, suspenseful build up with strong character development and gradual feeling of escalation, bone-chilling slow burn with “say more with less” approach and soul-shaking, blood-curdling, skin-crawling and nerve-wracking exercise in persistently looming dread where tension and anxiety permeates every frame as movie reaches its nail-biting, jaw-clenching and paranoia-inducing final climax, free of any cheap gore, cartoonish CGI or infantile jumpscares horror film episode 2.
Then Jim Cameron did the same with the Terminator sequel. Like completely different tone.
Both are bad, to be clear. I only watched the Assembly Cut. 3 definitely is superior in tone. But 3 is a fricking mess after the first act aside from the very ending. 4 has a few decent ideas but poor execution and annoying Whedon dialogue. Also I kind of liked lewd animal Ripley, the clones, and everything with the human-xeno hybrid thing (except it died too fast). 3 has a better arc for Ripley but the supporting cast largely fricking sucks and their motivations don't make sense, Charles Dance was alright but died way too soon. Also not enough on-screen gore, barely any really. 4's supporting cast was slightly better (Winona was badly miscast though). 4's ending also sucks a lot worse. Idk, both are bad, 3 was shittier.
Neither has anything on Prometheus or AvP in shittiness.
Covenant is unique in that there is literally nothing cool at all about it, so while even the worst of the other movies have cool scenes hidden throughout the shite, Alien Covenant has absolutely nothing good to offer, and further fricks up a story that had the potential to be interesting. If we count the AVP spinoffs then Requiem is worse, largely by virtue of being impossible to see, but also because of how offensively pathetic it makes the Xenomorph. Somehow, the CGI of this franchise also peaked in Resurrection, but the practical effects in Alien 3 (the gore especially) is some of the finest in any film I've ever seen. Aliens is a really good movie in my opinion, with a near constant stream of great and influential scenes, but it was also the movie that turned the Alien from an intelligent, enormous, lethal creature with an unreadable face and unknowable goals, into what is essentially a space wasp that you can gun down and fight off, and giving it the admittedly cool but totally imperfect need for a queen.
Covenant easily
Aliens. If we're counting just the original four.
Meds - not taken
Opinions - deep fried
I'll take my meds when you take your action movie out of my horror franchise, fricker
This. Someone threw a party and James Cameron invited all the smelly fatasses from the local comics shop.
aliens
avp
the rest are good

Alien 3 theatrical cut is dog shit and always will be. The Assembly Cut is the only cut worth watching concerning Alien 3.
I ain't reading all that autistic poo.
Dog Fart and BlackedRaw always get me
I really wish I could kill whoever makes these
not bad but aliens and t2 should be in entertainment tier
Aliens is corporate slop.
Didnt read but Aliens is cool because a bunch of it is blasting bugs
facts
Starship troopers does it better
Two different aims:
>CQB Aliens
>Large scale battles
Anything made after Aliens. Covenant and Prometheus being the absolute worst.
Pleb take. Go play with your action figures.
I liked resurrection for that French feel to it that fifth element had
Alien Resurrection special edition deleted scenes had a special blade runner feel to them.
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem
Prometheus
Alien Resurrection
Haven't even watched Covenant, don't plan to.
covenant is good
No it's not
Alien > Aliens > Ressurection > Covenant > Prometheus > Ali3n
Ali3n easily has the worst xenomorphs in all movies.
>he gets filtered by 3
>he doesn’t watch the assembly cut
2/10, your bait isn’t strong enough, try again next time.
Assembly cut isn't Canon. Simple as. Kys, rope and seethe
>Filtered by 3
>cant spell resurrection
Tracks
Ali3n easily. The moronic prison theme fails in every way. Also didnt help that they killed the survivors from Aliens.

>Alien 4
Anti-Aliens sentiment is pure contrarianism and moronic pseud drivel or bait. You can argue which of the first two is better.
Only sensible ranking:
Aliens > Alien > POWER GAP > Covenant > Resurrection > 3 (Assembly Cut is still shit) >>> Prometheus > AvP
>Anti-Aliens sentiment is pure contrarianism and moronic pseud drivel or bait.

Cant rim the Jim.
Went full Bimmy after T2, even True Lies is kinda soi.
Turns out Gale Ann Hurd was his testosterone-filled balls after all.
He made a soulless action movie with Alien as a mask.
Putting 3 below Resurrection is a weird choice. Explain yourself.

You're blinded by nostalgia. Aliens is a mediocre action movie. Jim is an overrated homosexual.
I’m blinded by kinography.
Prometheus.
I like it but it really has no place in the Alien franchise and all it did was muddy up it's lore and mystique.
I'm a big fan of the original 4. I like them all for different reasons. Yes even the shite one.
AVP Requiem, Covenant, Prometheus are the worst. Alien 4 is OK.
Covenant is unique in that there is literally nothing cool at all about it, so while even the worst of the other movies have cool scenes hidden throughout the shite, Alien Covenant has absolutely nothing good to offer, and further fricks up a story that had the potential to be interesting. Covenant has the new Xenos.
prometheus by a long shot. its not even close
AVP Requiem. At least the others generally keep things bright enough that you can see what's happening
requiem is too edgy. they frick up the tone of the movies by straight up slaughtering a little kid, and a maternity ward
like yeah obviously aliens are not gonna take mercy on kids and babies but you don't need to show that shit on screen
Well you gotta show 8 year old timmy in seat E5 how bad they are
