fantastic 4
Resident Evil. They never got it right once
this resident evil has never been good in film form
Ernest movies and any direct to home video sequels of Disneed animation.
They're okay from the campy angle.
Friday the 13th and Godzila
The Lighthouse Cinematic Universe is overdone imo
capeshit of all stripes. the only movie i ever rewatched out of that pile of slop is guardians of the galaxy 1
Capeshit is a genre, anon. That's like saying the worst franchise is "comedy"
there are two big capeshit franchises and they share the worst franchise slot
No capeshit gets as bad as Transformers
Tpbp
X-Men
xmen has at least 3 really good entries
Star Wars
And no it was never good
This
Any Disney franchise
Empire is good
I'll second this. You can always tell the quality of something by the fanbase and that fanbase is the worst. What happened in their latest movies?
>female lead
>Black person lead
and they still watched, so they're not even people to me. I had a friend who was a Star Wars fan in high school but he's not as bad as the people of Cinemaphile because the new trilogy wasn't out yet, so he was still watching white people movies.
Outside of 1977 and empire, the rest is not good. This is the best answer
>Empire is good
No, it's good for a Star Wars movie. Science fiction used to be something specifically reserved for smart people, until Lucas came along and made it accessible to the average dipshit. Star Trek is a smart franchise (or at least it was up until the 2010s) but Star Wars is just slop science fiction for stupid people wanting to feel "nerdy".
>Star Trek is a smart franchise
The things one hears these days.
Trek:
>"Commander Riker, we need to explore the ethical conundrum of an artificially intelligent machine replicating another android. Our reasoning on this issue may become relevant decades, or even centuries later."
>"Oh, quite indubitably, Captain."
SW:
>*PEW PEW PEW*
>"REEEEEEY!"
>*WHOOSH WHOOSH*
>"I'LL TRY SPINNING, THAT'S A GOOD TRICK!"
>*NEEEYOOWWW*
>"Quick Luke, use your mind powers to fire your space lasers at the bigger space laser!"
Compared to Trek, Star Wars is anime for white people
That's not true. That's impossible.
yes, and?
if i wanted to listen to Shakespearian actors wax poetic i'd shave my butthole and join a troupe
star trek hasnt anything that can compare to the rotj finale and we're not talking splosions
like ghost in the shell?
>Anon explains why Star Trek is the gayest fricking shit ever made
>Oh you're reading? lmao that's gay I'm gonna go play on the jungle gym
>Oh you're watching Star Trek? lmao that's gay I'm gonna go play football
>Oh you're working a white collar job? lmao that's gay I'm gonna go collect cans so I can afford to shoot fentanyl into my eyeballs today
I'm literally better than you and I won't apologize for stating it
Even I've watched a bit of Star Trek because it feels like something for adults and Star Wars feels like it's for children. Cinemaphile used to call Jedi space wizards and it's really accurate. Star Wars is just Fantasy in space. Why can't people just appreciate regular Fantasy (swords and sorcery) instead of the gay version.
I personally find swords and sorcery boring, but there's something about space fantasy that gets me hard
Well, I'm glad that Swords and sorcery is more popular, because that's what I like. Where are your good Star Wars games? They don't exist, because one fanbase is smarter than the other and that's why good games only exist for one of them. Where's your Star Wars equivalent of Baldur's Gate 3? It'll never happen. That's why you should learn to enjoy the other one and not the one you like.
>Science fiction used to be something specifically reserved for smart people
well this is laughably false.
>Star Trek is a smart franchise
>tries to call people stupid
>saves a thumbnail
Star Wars fans in a nutshell.
if you dont know what the text says by heart you're a new homosexual and should kys
Kek, gottem.
You're thumbnail-saving brain is weak.
>Science fiction used to be something specifically reserved for smart people
You know absolutely nothing about science fiction, you have your head up your ass.
return of the jedi is peak star wars tho
george lucas did not invent space opera and sci-fi was full of pulpy nonsense since its inception
>return of the jedi
Luke, remember last time you were here on Dagobah when I was training you and told you NOT to go confront Vader until you completed your training?
>yeah?
Well now your training will only be complete once you go and confront Vader.
>what?
Heard me you did. Now I die.
dramatically appropriate tho
kek
u should level up before the boss fight
?
he leveled up inbetween his two visits to dagobah
The MCU is giving it a run for its money.
I watched the original film about half a decade ago now and tried watching the second which is what is supposedly the best one? But just couldn't bring myself to care about it any further for some reason. Just this mega nerdy energy radiating through the screen and I asked myself "why the actual hell am I even watching this?" It's just so buried under memes and etc can't take it seriously whatsoever.
>It's just so buried under memes and etc can't take it seriously whatsoever.
Do zoomers really?
only boomers share star wars memes on facebook
>boomers
are any of those still alive
if you're +30yo you're a boomer
MCU and it isn’t even close. One good movie and an enormous pile of slop, the slop of course increasing by 5% after Iron Man 1.
Fast and the Furious
yeah probably
not doing it any favors by posting prequel shit
Cinemaphile is a prequels board, chud
If they stopped after Tokyo Drift then it would be mostly positive.
More bad films than good for sure
I would have said this because it now has 5 unforgivably shit films under its belt, but it'll always have 3 mediocre ones and 1 kino
This
Even the good first movie is a ripoff of Point Break. At least Star Wars and the MCU have good movies.
I tried watching the 1st one the other day and I couldn't stick through it. It was so awful. I remember hating the second one too. I think Tokyo Drift is the only one out of that whole franchise that comes close to being halfway decent.
Tokyo Drift == kino
Worst post itt
2 is kino
Star Wars.
The video games are the only good thing about it, KOTOR I & II making me care somewhat about the universe itself. Other than that, all the good shit is so old and dated, and the new stuff sucks absolute ass.
Jedi Knight series is better than both KOTORs.
I like Star Wars.
Stop talking bad about it please.
I have one fricking thread open and you're trying to censor me. Why don't you fricking make a Star Wars thread? Is that too logical for you? You pathetic piece of shit.
s-sorry
That's okay, you don't need to apologise. I'm just angry because I was playing Dota and I lost the match and I don't have any cigarettes so I don't feel like playing anymore and now I'm angrily posting on Cinemaphile.
>you're trying to censor me
zoomers were a mistake
homosexual
What's hilarious to me is Star Wars fans saw a thread saying "what's the worst franchise" and knew to show up. I just realised this IS the Star Wars general and I'm letting myself out.
bro i just saw a post insulting IQ and posted the meme what are u on about
Imagine if any other franchise got away with the dumb shit Star Wars somehow got away with.
Lord of the Rings 1:
>You must destroy the One Ring, Frodo
Lord of the Rings 3:
>Frodo... Sauron actually built... a second One Ring... and you must destroy that too
Prequel Lord of the Rings -3:
>Wouldn't you like to know what Galadrial did when she was younger? (Oh wait they did this and it was moronic)
Lord of the Rings 10:
>*sigh*... Somehow, Sauron returned... and this female hobbit, Sauron's granddaughter, is the only one powerful enough to stop him
I was writing this post to mock Star wars fans but the more I wrote the more I realized Amazon is literally trying to counterfeit the plans to the SW money printing machine
>he thinks if the nazis or soviets had sabotaged fatboy the world would have remained free of nuclear bombs
this is the mental capacity of hackson lovers everyone
take your meds
no u. it's absolutely rational that if a death star was destroyed a second one would be built that doesnt have the first one's design flaws
bruh moment
this picture is missing the 2021 movie too
is it tho
I had a crush on the kid from the 3rd movie when I was a kid. And a crush on Anakin from episode 1
eww you had a crush on some kid covered with children pox
nasty dude wtf
Never forget that Roger Ebert is on record saying Home Alone 3 is the best in the series. Reviewers have always been moronic.
onions wars, any capeshit.
Highlander
star wars is probably the worst. not one good movie after rotj(and even that one is debatable)
Saw franchise
Test
Friday the 13th.
It would be an anime franchise, or to stay on top, the Sheldon Cooper franchise.
Highlander. Only the first one is decent.
The rest are absolute crap.
It's worth it to have the TV show at least which was kino
Star Wars. A New Hope is okay but dated and is basically 10 minutes on Tatooine and 80 minutes on the death Star. Jedi is very flawed. Empire is the only good one. The ratio of good to bad movies was already 50% in 2002 and everything since revenge of the Sith has been awful.
>Jedi is very flawed. Empire is the only good one.
ROTJ has some lows but the highest highs of the entire franchise by far
Probably Halloween.
Leprechaun.
hey bud you missed your stop, /misc/ is a few boards up from here
McDonald's.
Wrong board
how has nobody posted the harry potter pasta yet?
I read the original Milne - Winnie the Pooh book when I was a kid. It was some really traumatizing shit.
Probably not the worst but James Bond films never need to be rewatched. One viewing is enough, especially the Sam Mendes ones. Just feels like a chore watching them.
Oh for fricks sake I should've known this thread would be worthless
Anyway I vote Saw
I have always felt bad for George Lucas, the guy just wanted to make a bunch of fun kid-films, but a bunch of nerdo's just ruined it for him, I completely understand his attempt to edit his first three films to make them more kid friendly, I understand what he was trying to achieve with the fourth film, just make a fun children action film, but these freaks kept holding this film up to this weird elevated scrutiny, as if Lucas was supposed to make some brilliant avant-garde masterpiece, in staid of a kid-movie. Years ago I watched all the Plinket reviews and that was one of the saddest things I have ever watched. Sad, deeply sad. Star Wars fan boys are basically all on the level of weebs and beatle fans, I literally got into a verbal argument with a coworker, because the guy wouldn't stop talking about Star Wars, it was insane and weird, that was a man in his 40's, just going on and on about a bunch of children's films. agggh.
btw, the argument was about him having all this star wars stuff at his desk, which annoyed me, because he kept putting his stuff on my side of the desk, so after the boss didn't do anything about it, I decided to buy some old star wars toys at a yard sale, mutilate them and then placed them between his desk and mine. After some angry glares and tension the guy went apeshit and we both had to remove our toys from our desks. win for me.
The Star Wars prequels were lambasted by the mainstream media too.
