The millennial equivalent is Superbad. I'm not sure what the zoomer equivalent would be though.
project x
but neither superbad nor that have anything approaching the soul of Dazed & Confused
>but neither superbad nor that have anything approaching the soul of Dazed & Confused
That’s because millennials don’t have soul.
Source: am a millennial.
dazed and confused has no soul compared to over the edge, which it was based on
just making shit up I see
if anything, Dazed is inspired by American Graffiti but set in the 70s
>zoomer
they haven't made that yet i'm pretty sure
What would the zoomie version of Dazed and Confused even be?
It would be 5 main characters that never interact with each other but all walk around with selfie sticks streaming what they do, scream unintelligible musings and shaking their bodies into the camera. Each perspective then does a reaction video of the others vod. Insert popular neologisms and fashion. Repeat for 90 mins and then end with fade to black and play EDM music that is phase shifted to distortion and has too much base
probably some movie on Netflix about depression that demoralizes the viewer
Eighth Grade
what was that suicide show on Netflix? that one
This movie was fricking stupid.
one of the shittiest movies i've seen that people praise.
it's a party movie. seething incels routinely get filtered by it because they can't relate.
>it's a party movie. seething incels routinely get filtered by it because they can't relate.
I'm a shut-in, but this made me literally lol
I thought project x was so fricking cool when I was like 14
This seen hit a little close to home for you didn't it?
>their faces when they found you were a gay and liked the paddling
being a teenager is fricking stupid
This is a movie made in the 90s about the 70s... so are you asking what is a movie made recently about the 90s? Something like this I guess
Project X
That's Millennials. Zoomers have never been to a house party.
Ehhhhhh...that's debatable. Lots of teens in the mid-2010s were doing stupid shit on Vine at house parties.
The party it's based on was a millennial's party in 2008, the main guy is a millennial, zoomers were like 15 at the oldest when the movie came out.
This is the guy a few years later.
That's a millennial.
Yeah I'm not disagreeing that Project X is millennial, but zoomers did their own fair share of stupid shit as teens too, and they still do. All you need to do is look at Tiktok to see that.
Also, 15 year olds in 2008 were millennials.
>zoomers were like 15 at the oldest when the movie came out.
Anon....
Project X is based on the out of control Facebook invite parties of the late 2000s/early 2010s. The characters would have been born in 1993/1994.
How is it Zoomer in any way?
This is a common sentiment on Cinemaphile. I'm intrested to know why. It's based on a uniquely Millennial phenomenon.
People for some reason don't realize the early 2010s was still millennial culture. You have people calling Minecraft a "zoomer game" all the time on Cinemaphile even though the original audience was millennials, many of whom were Cinemaphileners. Zoomers didn't pick it up until after Notch sold it.
>You have people calling Minecraft a "zoomer game" all the time on Cinemaphile even though the original audience was millennials
[citation needed]
You can go to Youtube and type in "Minecraft before:2013" and you'll find most of the videos aren't by 12 year olds, but high schoolers and grown ass college kids, some as old as 25.
doesn't not make it a zoomer game ex post facto
Usually the original audience has the most claim to it. Spongebob is pretty firmly considered a millennial show even though millennials stopped watching it after the movie and zoomers became the new audience with Seasons 4+.
apples to oranges.
Spongebob was huge with millenials, then I guess is also popular with zoomers, although I doubt it's as popular as it was with millenials.
The fact that you have to say Minecraft was originally for millenials, but have to dig deep to find millenials playing it, is the most telling example of why it's a zoomer game. It is more popular with zoomers than it ever was with millenials.
Millennials made it what it is though. You don't have to dig deep either, millennials all over the site will tell you about how they played the shit out of it in high school and college before losing interest when Microsoft bought it. Zoomers eventually became the new audience, but it started off as a millennial game.
Bullshit. I played it in alpha through when it came out and liked it enough, but my little cousin who was 7 at the time played it for ten years and probably still does today.
>Bullshit. [Proceeds to give irrelevant anecdote that doesn't disprove anything I said.]
>but it started off as a millennial game.
>but my little cousin who was 7 at the time played it for ten years and probably still does today.
Fine, it belongs to both.
Black person all zoomer grew up playing minecraft after school
>How is it Zoomer in any way?
I'm a '90 millenial. By the time that movie came out I was graduating college and figured the movie was only for high schoolers. I consider zoomers anyone younger than me btw.
>uniquely Millennial phenomenon
Because "Millennial" doesn't mean anything. At least there's some consensus on what zoomers are.
>At least there's some consensus on what zoomers are.
gays and trannies?
Among other things!
I was born in 1993 and I've been to at least three parties inspired by Project X. The reason was exactly
>out of control Facebook invite parties of the late 2000s/early 2010s
People went just invite everyone for you 18th.
Oh wait now I checked and it was 2012 lol so I guess we were the basis.
Project X (not the good one with the monkey)
imagine hating this movie, real incel hours
No one hates this movie. You have to be a pretentious homosexual to not enjoy it.
alright alright alright
Milla on the cover.. in the movie less than a minute
kek
won't we have to wait like 10-15 years for the sooner equivalent to come out
It must be crushing as a zoomer watching old media, knowing all the cool stuff has already happened and they are stuck with mumble rap and gay haircuts.
The movie really fricking sucks outside of adding that one weird guy who graduated but still hangs around high school functions to the pop culture canon. The plots are all formulaic, the music is basic as frick normie shit that everyone and their mother already knew, and holy frick I want to punch that homosexual with the hat has the most punchable face I've ever seen. Calling it a "coming of age" film also feels disingenuous since it's more of a "day in the life" sort of thing, it feels like a slap in the face coming off of John Hughes' domination of the 80s.
all right all right
I cracked up when she said this
This scene with them being forced to propose to the seniors and the girl saying shed swallow if he wanted turned me into a man
shesperfect
mid90s by jonah hill
Zoomers spent a bulk of their adolesence under quarantine. They have no basis for a party boner movie
