>Should it be brought back?
when has that EVER been a good thing. let dead things lie. you enjoyed it because it didnt have time to go to shit. leave it at that
Ah, now that you mention it, that explains why Clone High got a resurgence when it did. I remember it had recently been added to streaming (then CBS All Access) after years of being exclusively on YouTube and DVD.
>you enjoyed it because it didnt have time to go to shit. leave it at that
Why are Cinemaphile users such beta male negative nancy boys?
I want another season.
I liked this show and Callie is a top tier demon babe in western media . I haven't watched it in a while but I feel like they'd ruin it by bringing it back. Didn't Randall's VA get cancelled already?
Her relationship with Mark was cute in the first season, the second ruined it by making her fuck whoever she wanted and Mark accepting it like a cuck. I wonder how bad they would've gotten had the show been greenlit for a third season.
I'm surprised it got greenlighted in the first place.
>Demons want to take over Earth >They do it by creating a special government agency devoted to rehousing demons on Earth while reassuring humans that demons make great neighbors
It was ripe for an exploration of culture clashes, since demons no doubt have their own cliques.
#
not if it's a satire of how people see immigrants and demonize them. "you're just demonizing us" is the joke there
#
If part of the reason most African states suck is because of neighbouring ethnicities with long standing grievances there is no way humanity could integrate a million magical creatures without it being an unprecedented clusterfuck
Hollywood writers weren't thinking that far ahead, almost all of them are soi-drinking liberals. It's just sometimes they stumble on the logical conclusions without meaning to.
Revivals can never really recapture what was great about a show unless the show is a serial and the plot never got finished. No one watched ugly americans for the complicated exploration of a setting with zombies and wizards, they watched it because it was funny. Give the writers another shot to make a funny show and don't kneecap them by forcing them to use/avoid racist allegories and you might get something good again.
On a different note, one thing I do remember about the show that I liked was how often the cuck of a main character still managed to solve the problem and be semi-competent at his job. Way too often comedies just make a main character a sad sack who can't do anything right looking at you lower decks
>average Joe
Mark is aggressively pathetic but he's a competent pathetic person. She's not settling per se. Rather she is basically the demonic equivalent of a coalburner, fetishising Mark's extremely exaggerated human qualities to get off on the exoticism and taboo of it.
I hold the same feelings I have with all other short-lived cult classics. I don't need them to be brought back, I just want them to not be forgotten by everyone. We live in a timeline where there's more porn of the kids from Rick and Morty than of Callie Maggotbone or Pony Merks. That's fucked.
If these shows CAN be brought back, it should only happen if the writers can carry forward with a clear vision that isn't so jarring from the season(s) the fans fell in love with in the first place. I don't need a Clone High (where the new writers hold clear disdain for the original run) or a Futurama (where the old writers have gone senile and are just throwing shit at a wall).
Criminal. Ugly Americans should be as relevant as ever. How come this shit went viral back in summer 2020? I remember it blew up BEFORE the revival was announced.
>How come this shit went viral back in summer 2020?
Covid, a ton of old media got eaten up and was suddenly beloved by younger people who might have missed it by a few years. Kind of shocked Ugly Americans didn't have its own moment. I'd also kind of like it to stay dead, I don't think a reboot could be done right in the current cultural/media climate, just totally stilted and in its own way.
anon, it only got a revival BECAUSE it randomly blew up.
99% of the people involved in it were newfags who get to know the series because of that miracle but ironically didn't get what the series was about itself
I liked it but I'm also not surprised it didn't become a big hit. It's one of those shows I'm surprised was made at all and I have to give a lot of credit to whoever gave it the green light.
I will give a revival a shot but I won't have high expectations. They need to have as many of the original cast and crew back as possible and show they know what they're doing and understand the series. And no reboot. I don't care if a continuation "taints" the original because I can ignore the new seasons either way.
Literally nothing should be brought back. Works are a singular contained effort. Another work can be created but it will not share continuity. Can they 'try Ugly Americans again' sure but that's what it would be. It wouldn't be 'back'. Jesus just look at Futurama.
>What is your opinion of "Ugly Americans"?
Nice, quirky show that reminded me of the off-beat shows of the early 90's. >Should it be brought back?
Fuck no. It is a show of its era.
I liked the first season. The multicultural, in a real sense, New York City portrayed fantastical. Writing was good but they seemed to lose the grove in the second season and became a "shit that happened" show instead of it being stories.
I don't like the jerkass roomate character most of the time, that he is just allowed to trespass against his friend and faces little to no pushback when the main character acts against others for doing milder things is bad writing. I don't think the boss acting like a browbeaten manchild is funnier than his original character. I liked it I do rewatch the first season not really the second one
1) Season 1 was great. Season 2 was awful.
2) It's a rip-off of Futurama.
Nice to see I'm not alone in thinking S2 was a downgrade. It felt like it was trying too hard to be wacky when the whole appeal of S1 was that fantastical creatures were being subjected to grounded situations, like bureaucracy or relationship troubles. Sure there was goofier stuff like pic related, but it got balanced out by the B-plot of Mark raising an orphan manbird.
It was a great show and didn’t deserve to be cancelled, but now that it’s gone it needs to stay gone. I loved it and that’s why it shouldn’t be rebooted or continued or whatever. It had its time.
I only ever caught random episodes of it, so I never knew what or if any greater story was going on. It was okay, but I thought the art was a bit too simple and a bit boring. My favorite character was the alcoholic wizard.
>What is your opinion of "Ugly Americans"?
Nice, quirky show that reminded me of the off-beat shows of the early 90's. >Should it be brought back?
Fuck no. It is a show of its era.
>What is your opinion of "Ugly Americans"?
I really liked it, was a shame when it was canned I felt it had a good enough premise to go another 2-4 seasons >Should it be brought back?
I'd hope it wouldn't be. Because of how these things go. But you know maybe it would be an exception to the rule...
What i don't get is last i checked (a decade ago) tosh.o sucks ass but his standup was pretty good. There were like 3 internet versions of 'the soup' on at once.
I recently stumbled upon this and wondered how much the art style reminded me of Fired on Mars. Doesn't seem like they involve the same directors or artists afaik though.
I remember it mostly for the Lucky Star cameo they had while it was airing.
The thought of Tsukasa getting tentacle raped in an American cartoon is too hot and too funny to forget.
Ugly americans referenced 2011 meme culture so rewatching it in 2016 and 2019 it already felt massively dated. It was funny but also a product of its time. If they brought it back they'd probably have one of the Devils be Devil Trump trying to deport all the Angels back to Angel Mexico or something cring.
I wouldn't mind more Ugly Americans, but I'm also fine with the amount we got. Moonbeam City got cut waaay too short. It would be worth bringing back for the visuals alone.
>Should it be brought back?
when has that EVER been a good thing. let dead things lie. you enjoyed it because it didnt have time to go to shit. leave it at that
Honestly I thought Dick Maggotbone was hilarious since he was voiced by Archer.
Bevis and Butthead but that seems to be the exception not the rule.
This
It had it decent run both It was one of those series that already started to feel burned in the end
This. The only resurrection it needs is a proper dvd release
Is the show even streaming anywhere?
I believe is in Paramount
Ah, now that you mention it, that explains why Clone High got a resurgence when it did. I remember it had recently been added to streaming (then CBS All Access) after years of being exclusively on YouTube and DVD.
We just need to nag Paramount about promoting the damn show, lol.
>you enjoyed it because it didnt have time to go to shit. leave it at that
Why are Cinemaphile users such beta male negative nancy boys?
I want another season.
It was fine. I watched it when it was on, i may watch it if it ever came back but idc if it never comes back ever.
I liked this show and Callie is a top tier demon babe in western media . I haven't watched it in a while but I feel like they'd ruin it by bringing it back. Didn't Randall's VA get cancelled already?
What about a spin-off? Keep the focus narrow.
just be grateful you got two seasons
No good could come of it.
I like how she canonically has a penis
yes but only if it was the same writers, animators and voice actors. it was a good show and it should not have ended. the script was funny every time.
if different people are involved it would be too much of a risk
>*hideous bat-creature hits windshield*
>"Is that Steve Buscemi?! I LOVE his work!"
18:35 starts the Steve Buscemi joke:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6ijfkk
Wait, 16:35. Ugh.
my eyes are watering. those were good times
I liked it
I watched it just to support Squid. I miss the old days.
What happened to Squid?
It was fun.
I absolutely hate Mark and the demon cunt.
As in you hate bother of characters, or you hate their relationship?
Her relationship with Mark was cute in the first season, the second ruined it by making her fuck whoever she wanted and Mark accepting it like a cuck. I wonder how bad they would've gotten had the show been greenlit for a third season.
I'm surprised it got greenlighted in the first place.
>Demons want to take over Earth
>They do it by creating a special government agency devoted to rehousing demons on Earth while reassuring humans that demons make great neighbors
Just seems a little on the nose.
It was ripe for an exploration of culture clashes, since demons no doubt have their own cliques.
not if it's a satire of how people see immigrants and demonize them. "you're just demonizing us" is the joke there
>"I know him, and I think he's a psychotic lowlife."
>"THAT is an insult....to the psychotic lowlife community!"
(not from "Ugly Americans" but should have been)
well the majority of demons were actually pretty cool iirc so i guess they were right

Hollywood writers weren't thinking that far ahead, almost all of them are soi-drinking liberals. It's just sometimes they stumble on the logical conclusions without meaning to.
It was fun, especially Leonard, but best to leave it lying.
It was a fun show, and no, it should stay dead.
Nothing should be brought back.
That could be the joke of the reboot: making fun of reboots.
Callie should be older though, more MILF-esque. It drives home how long they've been away.
>That could be the joke of the reboot: making fun of reboots.
Every reboot does that nowadays.

Also Mark was still a lucky bastard landing Callie. Even when Callie became male at one point, it was still cute.
Mark reminds me of the guy from Fired on Mars.
I loved the Larry King disease episode.
>'Failure to Launch', still thinkin' about it...
>"We can confirm New Yorkers everywhere are turning into LARRY KING!"
>South Dakota, you're on the air!
I liked that hell is owned by some Japanese guys
It was stylish as fuck for the time, I loved the grungy 90s feel, and of course Callie was hot as fuck
Callie gives me same vibes as Leela for some reason, super hot competent woman settling for an average Joe
Heck Callie could carry her own show.
could be fun in an Aggretsuko kinda way
She is quite a character, and it could be a character study. Heck it could be her origin story.
>average Joe

What about an online series?
Criminal. Ugly Americans should be as relevant as ever. How come this shit went viral back in summer 2020? I remember it blew up BEFORE the revival was announced.

I think it was JFK clips on TikTok? I could be mistaken since I don't use that program, but somehow Gen Z swarmed to the show.
do you have any recommendations, I have watched Ugly Americans, and China il already. I also like the cult shows aswell.
Xavier: Renegade Angel
Superjail
Street Sharks
>Pony Merks
I liked it but I'm also not surprised it didn't become a big hit. It's one of those shows I'm surprised was made at all and I have to give a lot of credit to whoever gave it the green light.
It should be brought back as a one-off special where all the characters are now zombies.
I'd prefer a Valentine's thing where Mark and Callie get into hijinks.
I will give a revival a shot but I won't have high expectations. They need to have as many of the original cast and crew back as possible and show they know what they're doing and understand the series. And no reboot. It was quite underrated
>Should it be brought back?
maggotbone get ipad. Also, no.
I miss it
>What is your opinion of "Ugly Americans"?
Nice, quirky show that reminded me of the off-beat shows of the early 90's.

Fuck no. It is a show of its era.
is this real
It is, one of the characters even mention it.
I liked the first season. The multicultural, in a real sense, New York City portrayed fantastical. Writing was good but they seemed to lose the grove in the second season and became a "shit that happened" show instead of it being stories.

Now that's just uncalled for
It was a great show and didn’t deserve to be cancelled, but now that it’s gone it needs to stay gone. I loved it and that’s why it shouldn’t be rebooted or continued or whatever. It had its time.
Two things:
1) Season 1 was great. Season 2 was awful.
2) It's a rip-off of Futurama.
SUCK
MY
BALLS
Way, way too horny to be brought back. I'd love to see it again, but I know it wouldn't be the same.
I liked that one episode with the hellraiser reference. And that's about it.
the werewolf episode give me boner
Season and episode number please
I only ever caught random episodes of it, so I never knew what or if any greater story was going on. It was okay, but I thought the art was a bit too simple and a bit boring. My favorite character was the alcoholic wizard.

....what am I looking at here?
Callie from one of the original videos they made before the Comedy Central series.
Ah, okay.
Is there a reason why you used a pic of Callie in the OP, hmm?
milk.
actually her nips spout fire
>Should it be brought back
>Callie’s feet on my dick
whhoa
Somehow, they got away with briefly showing female nipples
when was that? i don't recall seeing that
Think about what the show is about and what most of the characters do and ask if in the current year they wouldn’t fuck it up.
>What is your opinion of "Ugly Americans"?
I really liked it, was a shame when it was canned I felt it had a good enough premise to go another 2-4 seasons
>Should it be brought back?
I'd hope it wouldn't be. Because of how these things go. But you know maybe it would be an exception to the rule...
It was pretty good but nothing should be brought back in current year
I will never stop seething about this shows cancellation; fuck you Daniel Tosh, and fuck you Comedy Central.
What i don't get is last i checked (a decade ago) tosh.o sucks ass but his standup was pretty good. There were like 3 internet versions of 'the soup' on at once.
Show me her penis
You sure? It's pretty big
Ahead of its time. If it came out today or a couple years ago I’d be huge.
Death by serious Snu-Snu?
What episode is this?
haha
Croatian man is great.
She was a sex demon in the literal sense of word
Hhhot.
In my opinion, all Americans are "ugly" Americans.
still makes me laugh every time I see it
My personal head canon is that Mark went crazy and became Kite Man
same voice?
I recently stumbled upon this and wondered how much the art style reminded me of Fired on Mars. Doesn't seem like they involve the same directors or artists afaik though.
Wizard was best guy.
He's best guy but he's the worst wizard
I want a prequel showing HOW Callie ended up with Mark.
Still would.
No. With today's attention span, it had about 4 seasons and that is plenty.
Are those dimples or cheekbones?
Dimples I think.
God yes
I like Mark’s voice
I haven't seen Ugly Americans in a long time I really should give it a rewatch, wonder if it holds up
I remember it mostly for the Lucky Star cameo they had while it was airing.
The thought of Tsukasa getting tentacle raped in an American cartoon is too hot and too funny to forget.

It was a fine show for it's time, and a good rewatch every now and again.
Also, no. They would rape it like they do every other reboot these days.
Callie is single handedly responsible for me destroying my dick for like a week while searching for porn of women wearing business attire.
Very nice.
She does rock a business suit.
I wouldn't mind more Ugly Americans, but I'm also fine with the amount we got. Moonbeam City got cut waaay too short. It would be worth bringing back for the visuals alone.
I fucking hate Comedy Central
I miss "Kid Notorious", though only for the lesbianism in it. Assuming I didn't imagine that.
